It was a game I came across when I was a teenager and its still fun to play. If you're looking for a dose of nostalgia then this is it! The game has been updated and translated. The only part you may struggle with is the prison section puzzle, as the paper has not been translated. There is a guide to assist with this so I would recommend looking at the ones provided on Steam. The spoilers are hidden. There are five main endings, one secret ending and the 'Rain Falls' ending. In order to get the final one you only need to complete the main five which is easy enough to do if you save before the branching path. In regards to the secret ending, there is a guide for that too but I would also advise 'sacrificing the stone'. The one I looked at did not mention this. The secret ending is worth it for further lore. I will not explain what happens as a lot of the game is stated on the store page and its a game you should experience for yourself. This one is quite sweet and bittersweet. It is one of my favourites in the group. They have released a small four page panel and some fan art with the updates. The little comic strips are not translated but still worth a glance. It makes me happy to see people still supporting this game. I am looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. For those who never glanced at these games in the past. It is not a difficult game nor scary. I would describe it as a little eerie. It is all about exploring the story and finding out the truth. Even after all these years it still holds up well. I also love the bookmark collectables as some of them do contain new images. It just speaks a lot about what is going on in the background. Also give love for the kitties~ I am glad one has finally found a home. ^-^

If you love RPG Maker style horror games-- or just games with good storylines, this is a must play. I have to say, I went into this game having no idea what it was about, and I was so happily surprised. The ambience and art are so beautiful, and the characters are well-developed and interesting. The plot itself is really nice, and the horror is well-incorporated into the storyline. There are definitely some puzzles, but they're not frustrating or excessive like in some other RPG Maker style horror games. The main focus in The Forest of Drizzling Rain is exploring, getting to know the cast of characters, and uncovering mysteries. It's such a well-rounded story and just a great experience.
