Absolutely loved this game! I can only recommend it. I just wish the final battle was a little bit more special. It just felt like any other fight. Some small things that occurred to me were that the voice lines are a little buggy sometimes and didn't line up with the animation. Also, by Fivetropolis, I ran out of things to spend money on, some additional boons could of been nice, but again, nitpicking. If you love RPG story games with a hand made feel this is the game for you. The music, the characters, the storyline, they just show how much love went into this game.
7/10 Enjoyable game. It seems like the creators were truly passionate but they had to cut a lot of corners probably due to budget or time constrains from EA (e.g there are only like 7-8 NPC designs and they repeat in the different cities over and over again) + Interesting story + Good art design. I would say this is the point and story is that motivated me to not drop the game (plus is short and combat is simple but engaging) + I thought combat was going to be bad based on the first minutes of gameplay. It's quite simple, but I liked it. It resulted entertaining to me actually + Good voice acting + It's short (around 12 hours), which I would say it's something good, specially to avoid too much repetition - Some things feel a little repetitive, but it's not a big problem if you engage with the game's loop
There are games you play… and then there are games that stay with you. Lost in Random is firmly the second. From the moment I stepped into its twisted fairytale world, I felt like I was walking through a living storybook—one where every corner hides charm, danger, and a strange kind of beauty. The art direction is incredible, blending a dark, Burton-esque style with environments that feel both unsettling and magical at the same time. But what really stood out to me was the atmosphere. The music, the characters, the narration—it all works together so naturally. You’ll find yourself stopping not because the game tells you to, but because you want to take it in. Even the smallest encounters, like a lone musician playing in the shadows, feel meaningful. It’s also not surprising how strong the story is, considering it’s written by Ryan North, the same mind behind Adventure Time. The writing carries that same clever, slightly offbeat charm, but with a darker edge that fits perfectly here. The narration is excellent, the voice acting is beyond amazing, and the terminology used throughout the world feels incredibly fitting—every word sounds like it belongs exactly where it is. A lot of the dialogue choices also let you lean into irony and unserious responses, which adds a ton of personality. It gives off that same playful Adventure Time energy, where even in darker moments, there’s always room for wit and charm. Gameplay-wise, the mix of action, cards, and dice mechanics keeps things fresh. It’s not just about skill—it’s about adapting, thinking on your feet, and sometimes just trusting the roll. That unpredictability becomes part of the experience rather than a frustration. Lost in Random isn’t perfect, but it doesn’t need to be. What it does, it does with heart, style, and a strong identity that’s hard to find these days. Some games you finish and move on. This one… lingers. Random Rules!
This was a very nice gaming experience. It has a very unique battle system, great voice acting, and a very good story. The game has a major Tim Burton feel through the whole story like a mashup between Night Before Christmas and Coraline, but cuter. The battles are a mashup between a Dungeons and Dragons, a card battler, and a straight action fight. This is what makes the game so unique. In a battle you fight in action style to collect crystals. The crystals can then be used to use cards that have weapons, skills and traps. One card might have healing, or a sword, or a bow, or a dashing skill, etc.. Once you have enough crystals you roll your friend "Dicey" and time freezes, and what ever number you roll, that is how many points you have to spend on cards. You can then buy, for example a giant mace and a bow, time unfreezes and you go right back into action battles. This design made this a really fun experience and different to anything else I have played. Highly recommend if you want a great story, battles, and voice acting. 8.5/10
