Pretty good game with great pacing. The new damage modes as you progress do sometimes feel like punishments more than improvements, but regardless of how they might be a bummer, speed and ease of playing do not change, so you pass by them rather quickly. No idle element, so don't buy it expecting that; it requires pure active play.

Fantastic game in the genre, a varied approach that leaves a lot to stick around for. I had not planned to 100% it, but it was so much fun I could not put it down!

Max Manos is well polished and mostly active leaning incremental game in the short incremental subgenre. It is a bit longer than its peers with somewhere around 5-6 hours of playtime, but is also generally a bit pricier too. Its main strength and draw is its very well polished aesthetics and presentation. The game looks and sounds great and it is clear that the developer really cared about this. It is certainly quite unique compared to the pixel artstyles you will see in many of its peers. The gameplay is alright enough, but nothing all too special. It just barely doesn't overstay its welcome and I recommend playing the game in 2 or more sessions in order to avoid burnout. You end up playing through the game a total of 5 times and while each time is different only really about 2.5 of them are actually unique. Fortunately the game does end on a high note though. The upgrades also don't feel as impactful as you might hope, and progress is generally in slow but steady increments, with few big leaps anywhere. This combined with having to play through several very similar runs can give off the feeling of just treading water which isn't the most ideal thing in the world. It also would have been nice if after you completed the game it would let you go back and play individual levels instead of having to start a campaign over again. The best and most unique of the levels is unfortunately the last of the 5 so its not really worth going back for it. Despite the issues with gameplay the game was still fun and satisfying to play as long as you are mindful about burnout. This game isn't one where you can play it for extended periods of time at once. If you are concerned about the price you can always wait for a sale, the subgenre of short incrementals is steadily growing and there are more options than there used to be.

A fun little idle/clicker/(something?) with a proper ending, short playtime, and easy to complete achievements. Had a lot of fun with this one and hope the dev makes a more classic idle-style game out of this (like combining all of the playstyles into one, more iterative prestige system). Loved my time with this, 10/10

A very simple yet satisfying game. Very tight gameplay with incremental rewards that feel fun as the game goes on. You just move your little hand around and depending on the type of hand at the moment, you might click here and there, although eventually you don't even have to click anymore. Fun game to pass the time.
