Metro 2033 Redux, developed by 4A Games and released in 2014, is a remastered version of the original game from 2010, based on the novel of the same name by Dmitry Glukhovsky. It’s a first-person shooter blending exploration, survival, and horror, set in a post-apocalyptic universe reminiscent of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Fallout, but with an added layer of intense claustrophobia. The story unfolds in 2033, in a Russia devastated by nuclear war. Survivors have taken refuge in Moscow’s metro system, connected by dark, grim tunnels, with each station governed by factions with wildly differing ideologies. You play as Artyom, a young man from the VDNKh station, tasked with warning the inhabitants of Polis station about an imminent supernatural threat. You’ll need to navigate from station to station to help as many people as possible, while avoiding numerous dangers, including supernatural events, countless mutants, or soldiers from hostile factions. Danger and horror permeate the metro’s tunnels, where everything is grim, cramped, dark, oppressive, and toxic. Yet, these passages are essential, linking the various stations. Many factions have set up their bases here, such as the Reds, the Reich, or various bandit groups. Some stations, fortunately, house friendly, almost warm communities despite the dire circumstances. Life goes on, offering a glimpse of near-normalcy among their inhabitants. People chat, joke, barter, listen to music, raise animals, cook, eat, and children draw. You can take the opportunity to buy essentials for survival, like gas masks, filters, medkits, ammunition, weapons, and upgrades. These underground cities provide a chance to warm your heart and spirit, and stock up on gear before heading back into the tunnels, moving "station to station", as David Bowie might say. As for the surface, prepare to discover the eerie charm of a post-apocalyptic Moscow. The surface is even more hostile than the underground, with unbreathable air, abandoned and ruined landscapes, and bone-chilling cold, if not worse. Be cautious—mutants now rule this domain! You’ll face a variety of mutants everywhere, as well as soldiers from factions with questionable ideologies. But you don’t always have to charge in guns blazing—stealth is an option. With enough composure, you can sneak through hostile territory, disable traps, turn off lights, and silently take out or knock out enemies. Boasting exceptional storytelling, enhanced by stunning, highly detailed graphics and a beautiful orchestral soundtrack, Metro 2033 Redux is a magnificent, cinematic, narrative, and dramatic experience. The game sets the bar high in every aspect—play it without hesitation!

The game is really good. The story itself is quite deep, a very good one at that. The graphics, gameplay, music were great too, and not to forget the atmosphere, just great. Not a very long game but it does well at telling you the story and making you experiencing it, the horror was there at times, more than i would like but you can't expect something else from a apocalyptic type game, and the fights were pretty chaotic, which was a nice touch of realism. For the most parts of the game i used the AK, which was more than enough..at least on the "Survivor" difficulty. Overall..it's a great game and i am hyped for playing the other two games, the price on sale is really cheap and i think it's an amazing deal if you buy it when it is on sale, but at the same time i think it's worth the full price. Have fun playing it!

I think everyone is already familiar with the Metro series, and they are really cool games. However, in my opinion, the first one, which is Metro 2033, truly conveys all the emotions to the player; from fear and anxiety to the sorrow of losing people you care about. I believe it was really fantastic.

I'm still in my first playthrough but I'm really enjoying it, I had multiple crashes while playing the game. This has helped me a lot. If you have a NVIDIA Card: - NVIDIA Control Panel -> click Manage 3d settings -> Threaded Optimization -> ON
