If you’re a fan of post-apocalyptic games, Metro 2033 Redux is a must-play. It’s one of the best in the genre, and its atmosphere is unmatched. The world is packed with details that truly show the misery and struggle of humanity after the collapse, especially when you’re in the metro stations, listening to people talk and going about their lives. This is not a game you should rush through. Take your time, explore, and pay attention to the small details—the experience is much richer that way. I highly recommend playing it on Survival Ranger Hardcore for the true Metro feeling. With no HUD, everything feels more intense and immersive. Even today, the visuals are still beautiful and impressive https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3516300838

Redux is the way to go, I tried to play the original again and it hasn't aged well mostly due to the combat being weak and not being flushed out, the redux versions feel much more like last light when that was released originally. Metro 2033 Redux is a hauntingly atmospheric first person shooter that pulls you deep into its bleak, post apocalyptic vision of Moscow. Based on Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novel, the game follows Artyom, a young survivor who has lived his entire life in the metro tunnels after a nuclear war rendered the surface uninhabitable. When his home station is threatened by mysterious creatures known as the Dark Ones, Artyom embarks on a perilous journey through the ruined metro system to reach Polis, seeking help from other factions and uncovering unsettling truths about humanity’s survival. The story is linear but tightly written, and what makes it stand out is its focus on tone and atmosphere over spectacle. It’s not about constant firefights it’s about tension, scarcity, and the quiet dread of surviving underground. Conversations overheard in stations, flickering lights, gas mask filters running low all of these details create a tangible sense of place. Metro 2033 Redux has an insane level of immersion, the sound design is amazing, and some of the best atmospheric storytelling. The muffled echoes in the tunnels, the oppressive darkness, and the subtle use of environmental storytelling all contribute to what many consider one of the most immersive single player shooters ever made. Do yourself a favour and play with Russian audio with English subs and it becomes so much more immersive, for me at least but worth a try. That said, not everyone will love its pacing. Some find it too slow, too methodical, or frustratingly punishing especially on higher difficulties where ammo and filters are scarce(I believe this is how the game was meant to be played, and is the most conducive to how the original felt and played.) But for players who appreciate deliberate tension over nonstop gunfights, that’s exactly what makes Metro 2033 so special. The Redux version isn’t just a remaster it’s the definitive way to experience one of the most atmospheric and emotionally grounded shooters of its generation. It’s not for everyone, but if you enjoy focused, immersive narrative shooters that make you feel every step through the darkness, this one is absolutely worth playing.

The game is really good. The story itself is quite deep, a very good one at that. The graphics, gameplay, music were great too, and not to forget the atmosphere, just great. Not a very long game but it does well at telling you the story and making you experiencing it, the horror was there at times, more than i would like but you can't expect something else from a apocalyptic type game, and the fights were pretty chaotic, which was a nice touch of realism. For the most parts of the game i used the AK, which was more than enough..at least on the "Survivor" difficulty. Overall..it's a great game and i am hyped for playing the other two games, the price on sale is really cheap and i think it's an amazing deal if you buy it when it is on sale, but at the same time i think it's worth the full price. Have fun playing it!
