[EN] I definitely love this game, its like somebody gifted their nostalgia, their memories, in the form on a place you can navigate, meories can ger blurry, so you cannot remember when (that is why you can change the time and weather) but you cherish it, you wanna go back. Also i love how well is done the liminal aesthetic, it's my favorite game off 2026 and i will play it several times, even if the game is broken on english. Well.. this one was really a difficult decision. So, what do we have here? The game is an incredibly atmospheric and beautiful walking simulator set in China that evokes childhood memories. The liminal space aesthetic really works. There’s also a good amount of interactivity: there are lots of objects you can click on, read, examine, rotate. All these small details make the experience feel immersive which I appreciate. At one point, it even hit me hard emotionally (I’m not even joking - I almost teared up). Even though the Chinese setting isn’t exactly native to me, I had been there many times on holidays as a kid so maybe something about it still resonates. But.. there is a serious problem. When I bought the game at its release, I didn’t notice the mentioning of using AI. And now that I’ve finally played it, that detail SIGNIFICANTLY affected my perception of the whole experience. On the one hand, the game is clearly made with love. It feels so nice to simply be in the game, to wander in these locations. And it’s not just some generic depiction of Chinese environments either, for example, there is the whole part which is made in Frutiger Aero style only. However, the developer claims that "a very small part of the environment textures is generated by AI". And honestly, I really want to believe that. I enjoy taking my time, looking closely at textures, models, and environmental details. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that AI was used much more often. And this is why it was so hard for me to decide if I should give it a negative review cause I am totally against AI in art. Still, Millennium Dream left a very positive impression. It feels like the intention behind it was sincere. So, dev, your heart is in the right place, man, your heart is in the right place. Only if all of this had been created entirely by hand, even at the cost of some realism, the game would become almost perfect liminal walking simulator. It could easily stand alongside the best examples of backrooms games. Almost forgot - ZERO jumpscares, monsters, entities, whatsoever. Pure dreamy liminal experience. I have a lot of respect for developers who avoid creating their games in overused PS1 aesthetic and instead try to make games realistic while still keeping the right atmosphere and that liminal charm rather than producing another ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Unreal Engine 5 showcase. In the end, the game is worth trying and even AI didn’t ruin the experience that much.
Fascinating atmosphere. As someone from the millennium era, I relate to most parts of the game, and it really resonates with me. The game is well optimized. My only negative feedback is that although I selected English as my interaction language, about 95% of the in‑game interactions are still in Chinese, which I couldn’t understand. I really hope this gets addressed, so anyone who buys the game can fully enjoy the walking‑simulator experience and appreciate everything it offers.

She is Chinese and grew up in China at around the time this game takes place, and so for her this game served as a nostalgic and emotional journey back to her childhood. She was also surprisingly familiar with this neighbourhood that she has never visited before. She instantly knew what and where everything was, like all of the suburban neighbourhood layouts were somehow imprinted in her mind. Though it is probably just because they all look the same. You can apparently submit your own childhood pictures to the developer and they will then show up in other people's playthroughs of the game. This is a pretty fun idea, though definitely a feature only really meant for Chinese players, for obvious reasons. When we bought this, we actually thought this was gonna be a VR experience, but it isn't and that is a real shame. A walking sim like this would make so much more sense as a VR experience than what it is now. So here is to hoping the developer adds VR support in the future. There does seem to be some issues with dizziness playing this game. I have seen quite a few Chinese players mention it and my wife also felt sick after about an hour. I'm not sure what caused it, because I was running about 60 fps the whole time. It might be something to look into though. I hope we get a lot more of these 3D time capsules in the future.
