Beautiful, whimsical, melancholy vignettes about childhood. It's beautiful, interactive art that felt like an elevated version of clicking around those old Humongous Entertainment games (Putt Putt, Spy Fox, etc.)

The game starts with you opening an old wooden box filled with little keepsakes. Each item takes you into a different short story inspired by childhood memories. I like that all four stories have their own unique style. Each chapter feels fresh, with different artwork, atmosphere, and storytelling, so I'm always curious to see what the next object will reveal. Some stories feel cozy, while others are a little strange or emotional, and I really like that mix. The gameplay is simple and relaxing with easy puzzles. There aren't any difficult challenges, so you can just enjoy the experience at your own pace. What I liked most was how the game tells its stories without using much dialogue. Instead, it lets the visuals and the world around you do the storytelling.

What a phenomental little treasure box. It's basically a set of interactive animations but that sells it shorts. The forms of interaction are varied--one akin to a single page of an Amanita game, another like a surreal point-n-click dream sequence. The art style is distinctive and beautiful. The sound design is evocative and immersive. The tone of each vignette is distinctive, yet they shared themes of family, home, memory, regret. It feels like a set of dreams an adult has about their youth. It only took me about 45 minutes to get through but I can see myself replaying the whole bunch. In fact, I had already played the demo which included two of the four vignettes. I can't recommend it enough
For when you want mood, not mechanics : a playable art gallery for fans of metaphors.
Miniatures is less a “game” and more a surreal little art exhibit you click your way through, and whether that works for you depends entirely on how much you enjoy metaphor-first, story-optional experiences. Each of the four segments has its own strange, hand-drawn tone, and while most of the narratives bounced right off me, “Familiar” genuinely landed and left a mark. The artstyle is gorgeous, the presentation is original, and the whole thing leans into this sinister, dreamlike vibe that rewards players who enjoy second and third degree reading. But wow, it’s short. Like, “done before your tea cools” short. The interactions are minimal, the puzzles are featherlight, and nearly everything you’ll do is already shown in the trailer (which tells you exactly how simple the experience is). There’s a certain empty beauty to it, more gallery than game, and that’s fine as long as you know what you’re walking into. Achievement hunters will love how straightforward everything is; players looking for deeper stories or more substance will probably walk away shrugging. Overall, I soaked up the art and atmosphere, but this is absolutely a niche pick. If you vibe with cryptic, artsy little worlds, it’s worth the 40 minutes. If not, this one will feel like staring at cool paintings you’re not allowed to touch.
