This game harkens back to the classic tower defense feel from flash games in the early 2000s. It's focus isn't on massive maps loaded with special effects, interesting sprites, and complex pathing logic. It's a decidedly minimalist approach that wont bog down your PC with stuff that isn't necessary for a good TD game. It opts for build areas and path areas instead of a complex dynamic pathing system where you can create your own lanes. The towers have cooldown timers between placing them, which encourages you to place them strategically and use a mix of different types. The upgrades cost 2 resources while placing a tower only uses 1, which forces you to keep track of what your are doing and what order you place and upgrade your towers. Resources aren't (at least through chapter 1) farmed from defeating enemies, but instead by having to construct and manage Mines. The localization in English is garbage, but the game holds your hand pretty well through chapter 1 so that you can figure things out and get a feel for gameplay. If you enjoy the strategy aspect of Tower Defense this game is awesome, if you want a TD game that plays like a FPS where you can spam down towers late in a wave this one might not be for you. The focus of the game is planning over reaction time. The pace is slow enough to let you keep an idea of what's going on while building and upgrading your towers and mines, but has a 1.5x and 2x speed in case that pacing is too slow for you. That said I can definitely see why some people want a 4x speed, and why that would make the game a lot different to play. Overall I can see that this game isn't for everyone, it has a slower and grindier pacing than American style games. That said I have found it to be a lot of fun and not at all difficult to learn, but mastering it will take a lot of time.

For the price, this is a decent tower defense game. It IS minimalist, but you get a dozen or two dozen hours of gameplay for less than the cost of a Chipotle burrito. If you like simple tower defense games, this fits the bill. One mild disappointment (that others have mentioned) is that there is no endless mode: it might be fun to see how many days a particular configuration COULD survive, if the number of enemies (say) doubled each cycle
