One of my favorite games growing up. Still unfair, still random, still brutal.

This game is worth your time. If that's all you're here for, you have your answer. Go buy it immediately. Mud and Blood 2 was a game that kicked you in the nuts and asked you, politely, to stand up and salute. It was a test of your fortitude, and it rewarded you with consistent progression in the form of ribbons and promotions: get to start with a squad of 4 spec ops, % increase to soldier combat skill after getting 100 kills, everyone gets to start with a Garand after beating a certain amount of missions with X amount of waves, etc. The classic formula was one that worked to a shocking degree for a flash game from 2008. It was a defining staple of my time on the late 2000s internet. This update to that formula is more akin to getting a car battery up to your nuts and electrocuted for a few hours, and, afterwards, being forced to kiss the guy who was flipping the switch. It is, in big, bold, ♥♥♥♥ you letters: UNFAIR. RANDOM. BRUTALITY. You might read that and think I'm going to give this game a negative review, but you'd be wrong. Absurdly wrong. The randomness, the brutality, the unfairness of this game? It is so incredibly, insanely fun that I am in a near state of shock as I play. It isn't even that it's hard! This isn't a 2012 Dark Souls thing where I'm flexing my big boy gamer skills by talking up how 'difficult' Mud and Blood is: I am dogwater at video games, and this game is not hard to understand. The unfairness is RNG: you're crafting the best of a bad scenario at all times, and that scramble, the adrenaline of holding the line from a random wave of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with 10 TP and a dream, is a hook that isn't really present in any other game I've ever played. I say this from a place a deep respect: Mud and Blood is a special experience. It's everything I could've ever wanted from a new entry in the series. To say this is just 'more of the same' is enormously underselling what Urb was able to accomplish here: it's perfect, man. I cannot wait for more.

It’s honestly addicting — you just want to keep progressing through the campaign and other game modes to unlock new troops and vehicles. It’s really cool, and watching the troops fight each other is genuinely entertaining. I would suggest adding troops to the campaign that are already advanced in their skills, since every time one of your experienced soldiers dies, you’re left with a rookie who has no experience, and that can get repetitive. It would also be great to introduce new game modes, such as a “base defense” mode where you can build your own base and then attack others — something similar to Age of Empires. Expanding the maps vertically and horizontally would make gameplay even more engaging. Lastly, improving troop and vehicle mobility would make a big difference, especially if we could command troops to perform more specific actions that the game doesn’t currently allow. I would also love to see any troops being able to get into any vehicle, along with more interactions between soldiers overall — things that would make the gameplay feel more alive and dynamic. I’d also love to see a modern version of the game set in the early or current 21st century — in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, or even Vietnam. It would be amazing to have modern weapons, vehicles like Humvees and modern tanks, updated troop uniforms, special units such as Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, Marines, Spetsnaz, SAS, GSG 9, and more, plus different countries to choose from. They would really only need new game modes and improved graphics to make it sell incredibly well. I really want to encourage the developers to make this modern version because I’m confident it would sell extremely well — there’s no other game quite like it, and I would truly love to see it happen. PLEASE DEVS MAKE IT HAPPEN

This is the perfect game to play while on lunch break or after a hard day at work. the brain usage is minimal for when your tired or MAXIMAL when you fancy killing some krout. Best game mode for me is the classic as i have been playing since the first mud and blood on kongregate. You may experience some BS but that is war.

Easily put 10 times the amount on the mini game on kongregate, glad to see it was able to make its way to steam. Best money I have spent on a game in recent years
