I really didn’t like this game at first. It’s on a timer, so you have to kill things to refill the clock. They give you ten seconds, which is quite punishing. I was constantly failing - all the firefights are in closed spaces, so I either got shot to pieces or ran out of time. Then I discovered that the devs included a large array of gameplay options, both increasing the time limit or even turning it off. Amazing. That way, I played the whole game through in a couple of sittings (about 7 hours), and once I had the hang of it, changed back to the timer and found I could more or less hack it. The game has a fantastic art style, superb silly 90s action film humor, excellent gun feel (SMG and Shotgun are my faves) and an overall compelling and satisfying gameplay loop. Highly recommended, and shout out to the designers for including so many difficulty options. I ended up loving the game when I could concentrate on the mechanics, style and flow, and not just be dealing with the timer. More power to you.

Gameplay The game offers classic platformer gameplay where the player controls a character named Jack. Jack must go through many levels, collecting bonuses and items that will help him in passing. Various obstacles such as pits, traps and enemies await the player at each level. One of the features of the game is the ability to improve the character, which adds depth and a strategic element to the gameplay. Graphics and sound The graphics of the game are made in the style of retro platformers with bright colors, pixel graphics and simple but detailed animations. This gives the game a special charm and nostalgic mood. The soundtrack is also made in retro style, using sounds and music typical of that time. The musical accompaniment of the game is energetic and dynamic, which goes well with the gameplay. The sounds of the effects, such as Jack's steps, hitting enemies and interacting with objects, are made with high quality and add realism to the game. MULLET MADJACK If, before playing something on Steam, I had to stop by a bar and the bartender asked, "Choose your poison," I'd say that Mullet Mad Jack is like a Long Island Iced Tea. Despite the name of the cocktail, after about three hours of drinking it (which is roughly how long it took me to complete this wonderful game), the credits would start rolling. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3306514863 Unfortunately, no one ever gave me new sneakers at the end, though. Too bad. By the way, the art style in some Steam anime comics looks like it got whacked by the '80s.

Really love this addictive fast paced FPS shooter, as the plot says you need that sweet dopamine to survive and this game delivers that to the gamers. + multiple difficulty choices to allow everyone to enjoy this game ( be it without time constraint or permadeath). + 90s anime visual art and aesthetic + synthwave music, even the main menu vibe is enough to hit that spot. + Loads of easter eggs and direct references/usage of them. + Weapons choices, character and enemy upgrades are great, yeah even the Joke Gun is fun ~ not sure its a con or done on purpose but the levels have similar layouts, its more visible and can easily learn if you are trying for endless mode. Story on easiest difficulty can take around 2 hrs(more or less), so think with your pocket before purchasing. But definitely try this game, As the moderator says - "Action is better than words" so try the demo.
