I definitely recommend this game but before I get into a deep dive of my review, I will give y'all a TL;DR - historical otome so some aspects can be confusing, but the game provides a glossary so you can familiarize yourself - fully voiced!! - amazing CG - there are some typos - MC is not bland at all, I love them so much and I barely like any otome MCs - romance doesn't start until maybe AFTER chapter 10 so beware PLEASE NOTE: If you are looking for quick thrills, this isn't the game for you. Common route doesn't have as much romantic moments and is more about folklore and historical events. This game is more like a classic PSVita visual novel than your usual Steam dating sim. For me, it isn't boring but maybe for others it can be. MY IN DEPTH REVIEW (as of where I am in the game) Personally I love the game mostly because I'm into Wuxia stories and irl history. It's a unique take. It doesn't start with romance and I think it's a good thing, at least for me, since the otome games that I've played go straight to the point and no world building whatsoever. At first I could barely hook myself into the game because I didn't understand anything despite knowing Wuxia or a little bit of Chinese history. I usually don't like wordy otomes and I was so confused HOWEVER when I actually got into flow state and read everything (not just glossing around the words), I couldn't stop playing. As of right now, I've been playing this game from 11 PM to 8 AM. The game spends a lot of time building the characters up and letting you familiarize with them, so there is more historical aspects than romance in the common route. For me, this is OK. I've played similar games and for me it doesn't ruin the experience. AS I SAID, FOR ME. The characters are vv lovable too. My favorite has to be Shi Yiguang and Chenfeng in terms of the love interests because for me, Chenfeng reminds me genuinely of a sulky puppy and Shi Yiguang reminds me of Xie Lian. At the end of the day, it's your decision but I genuinely do recommend the game if you love wuxia. I'll put more once I finished the game but please give it a try!!

one of the best MCs, if not the best MC, i have ever played in an otome game! super good writing, art is gorgeous, fully voiced & the OST is also beautiful. not to mention the fantastic plot. highly recommend!!

Short answer: I love this game and recommend it to all who like a well written story Long answer: The game is a historical chinese fantasy game and it has tons of lore so it was fun to read through it all. It doesn't have lots of choices or overly romantic encounters, but the way you get to know the people is really entertaining. I like that the story isn't shallow and the artwork is also amazing. Voice acting is good, but I preferred to play without. I did have some issues to get all the achievements (Back to the past - had to switch to chinese to unlock). Overall, I think YiGuang is my favorite route, but I don't want to spoil it.
