A pretty cool short underwater indie walking simulator if you're in a patient mood to play it. You walk extremely slow, absorbing the claustrophobic ambiance whether you want to or not in anticipation of the next (Narcosis?) stress induced hallucination. Which can be thrilling in some of the caves and environments being really cool to look around at while you investigate around the facility in the beauty of it but urgency and terror of running out of air all the time wondering if you'll make it to or find the next air tank. The narrative throughout the game rather than notes you pick up giving you the background story details was different and interesting. As for cons there's a fair bit of jank to one of the platforming sections with the limited vision and movement. And it needs quite a few more save points for when you fail some sections where it's not obvious what you're supposed to do. And it starts you back at beginning of the chapter if you quit the game without finishing the current one even if you're half an hour into it, or if you're past a known save point you went back to after dying. It needs more save points and a save and quit option. But despite its flaws I still liked it enough to play through it twice to get all the achievements and collectibles.
This game made me more sad, than scared, which is not a bad thing at all. I ended up really enjoying the story of the game. It's not really a scary game as I mentioned, just a heartbreaking one, altought the deep oceans did unsettle me a bit, since I'm both afraid and fascinated by the deeper parts of ocean. Sound design was pretty good overall, but it wont blow your socks off. The music was okei, but I would've preferred if the game was more focused on the ambient soundscape. Some of the music complimented certain scenes really well. When it comes to the gameplay let's get one thing straight, this is NOT survival horror game, this is a psychological horror walking sim with very minimal resource management. Don't buy this game expecting crazy ass gameplay, because there's nothing here for you, I'm not saying this to be mean, It just won't be a good time. However if you enjoy narrative driven games, with great story and atmosphere, then I reccomend getting it on sale
This is a great game with some peak atmosphere at times. I really like it but as the game went on, I sort of felt that missions got more and more confusing with puzzles that seemed sort of out of place when looking at the previous levels of the game. I really like it but that is my one negative I guess.
