In terms of art style, animation, sound and controls, it's an absolute banger. The customisation is extensive and it's fun to morph different character's looks and movesets together. However, the game is full of jank, infinite stunlocks, hackers and pay to win abilities. The pay to win isn't even that bad but it's frustrating when you've spent money on the game and the abilities don't work properly. The game is great if you're a big fan of the series but I wouldn't recommend it for a fair competitive experience.
Game is fire (got it for $5, definitely wouldn't spend the $20 because you'll end up paying that much to get some of the characters you want) Some great things: - Combat is super smooth - Graphics look awesome - Movement is so smooth it isn't funny - All jutsus feel like a mix of powerful with potential downsides - Lots of characters are "free," where you can play as them with their moves and stuff if you select them as your mentor and get their respective XP in there (doesn't take more than 3-4 matches which are only a few minutes) - Still consistently update with new characters, weapons, etc - Not just a game where you select the Naruto characters (you can if you want), you create your own builds using their jutsus, weapons, ninja tools, etc in the 4 different classes Some not so great stuff: - No matchmake balancing whatsoever - Theoretically very pay to win, except you don't NEED to do that. Also you can totally just spend about $20 and get great jutsu on all 4 classes and for whatever change you want you can buy jutsu from Tenten or drop a bit more money - Lock on is terrible, you're better off not using it MOST of the time - Tutorial didn't teach me about mounts at all - No in-game chat or quick pings or any team communication at all - Can't see KD at the end stat screen for some reason So for a game that has been out 9 years it seems like the only updates made were new content, but nevertheless it is still a pretty fun time
