Its okay i guess. for Neptunia players, this one fells like a good change of pace from the usual grindy turn-based gameplay. for Senran player tho, this one gonna feels a little bit clunky, repetitive, and few end game contents with the lack of dungeon varieties. This one leaned more to Neptunia side more than Senran, so know what to expect before diving. the gameplay is fine and the difficulty is fair. Although some skills will make you vulnerable to enemy attacks after use, it is in a way to make unga bunga players be punished slightly. one thing which mildly annoys me and broke my focus is the mouth movement during dialogue. even when the characters paused/stop talking, it still moves.
Neptunia x Senran Kagura Ninja Wars 8/10 If you're a Neptunia and Senran Kagura fan, buy the game. If you like anime, buy the game. If you like hack and slay games, buy the game. If you like leveling up characters until you die, buy the game. But the most important point is the music in Heartland, it's so relaxing that you forget all your worries and feel comfortable and safe, like in the save womb in better days. Why are you reading the reviews? Just buy the game already. And the bad comments because of 'fan service,' there are enough mods available if you really want it. (like me)
Coming from Neptunia, not Senran Kagura myself. The only SK game I ever played was Burst on the 3DS. That being said I enjoyed Ninja Wars. Having played all of it on Steam Deck I have no complaints about the performance or the control scheme, it ran and worked fine out if the box without changing any settings. Story was not very interesting and the cutscenes were too long at times. For such a simple narrative I feel like reading 5 minutes, at times more, of dialogue is not necessary. Neptune's meta commentary was especially annoying but I don't hold it against this game because this is a complaint I have about her in general. Now... Gameplay. It's a bit simple but fun enough. I finished the game, 100% doesn't seem to be too much of an ask in terms of extra time to put in but as of now I'm done. I would not recommend the game if it were longer either; it doesn't overstay it's welcome. Do pick it up on sale though. The normal price is way too high for what it is.
This is more of a mixed review. Its not a bad or boring game by any standards, but not worth the $50 price tag. This is a blend of half visual novel, half hack and slash. While it is playable with keyboard, it is not optimal or really optimized at all. You will have an easier time with a controller. The basics is you go into a battle, you got items, skills and ultimate abiltities. You clear room by room or area by area, then fight boss, return to base to upgrade with equipments, gems, etc. The main selling point is the characters/visual, not much the gameplay. I hate to said it but that's a bit generic and sometime your character, after a combat like to stand still for a bit and not dodge the enemy.
