Sadly this game is no longer available on Steam, which really sucks because that means it's no longer officially available on any modern platforms. If you're ever interested in playing NiGHTS, I recommend emulating the PS2 rerelease, which I'm pretty sure the Steam port used as a base. The game's super addicting once you figure out what you're supposed to do. You don't get a time bonus for clearing levels quickly, only for obtaining Ideya (the special orbs you get by breaking capsules after you get 20 blue orbs. It makes sense ingame, trust me), so the game becomes a race against the clock as you squeeze out as many points as you can before you run out of time. Simple, but effective—it's classic Sega arcadey goodness. I just wish there were more levels to play. Also shout out to Reala for having some of the best boss music ever but also dying in like two seconds lmao

One of the most unique, genre-defying, and satisfying games SEGA has ever produced, and that's a high bar! Why on Earth did they de-list this title? Whatever. Go download Mednafen and emulate the original. Crying shame you have to work outside official channels to play such an important Sonic Team title, but I promise it's worth the hassle.

It is literally a perfect PC port of the Sega Saturn classic. As the proud owner of both of "NiGHTS into dreams" and the rare Promo Disc "Christmas NiGHTS" for my saturn, i can attest you that this version here is the Go-To version to play it. This PC port here comes with both the original Saturn version, in its original 4:3 Aspect ratio and graphics and also with an optional modern Port with higher resolutions, updated Models and graphics and widescreen support. And yes, that means both regular NiGHTS and Christmas NiGHTS since both are included, the saturn classics AND the modern PC version. Gameplay wise this is as 90s as it gets and It plays wonderful with gamepad (i have a generic PC Gamepad by Nacon and it was detected and assigned without me having to do anything) and can also be played with keyboard. There are a lot of things to unlock, like artworks and behind the scenes videos. I think i even found some of the graphics that you could see if you put the Sega Saturn Disc of "Nights" into your PC Disc drive. And now for the bad part: This Classic is being actively DE-LISTED and REMOVED from the Steam storefront forever by SEGA, on December 6th 2024 ..... So if you haven't played that game yet and planned to play it later sometimes, you better get it now because the window of opportunity is closing in a few days and this version here has thankfully NO Denuvo and NO online verification, NO additional account required and absolutely NO-Always online requirement. So i say GET THIS GAME WHILE YOU CAN!!! DON'T BE STUPID AND WAIT BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE >_> Because we now live in the dark age of "gaming as a service" where all originals are being phased out and replaced with worse versions. Get it now or regret it forever......

This game has such a magical vibe to it and should probably be remembered more than it has been. Get it before it get's delisted on December 6th!! ! !! It's a very simple game, both premise and gameplay wise. You have your two main children characters who have some trauma that they're suffering and in their dreams they enter nightopias where they meet NIGHTS. The evil Wizeman will use their stolen Ideyas, (Dream energy), to have the power to enter the real world and invade. NIGHTS is supposed to be a henchman for Wizeman but decides to instead work against him. NIGHTS does this by helping children get their Ideyas back and on the way help them overcome their real-world fears. You get to traverse the levels as the children at the start but you're supposed to touch NIGHTS at the alter so you can "Dualize" with them, becoming NIGHTS for yourself so you can actually start the level. Levels are separated into 4 "Mares", or courses that loop. You gotta get 20 blue chips to open up each Ideya and then return the Ideya back to the alter. You can get star chips for bonus points, go through rings for points and also perform a specified number chain to open up capsules for extra points. There are also a lot of unique level gimmicks that change up the gameplay, whether it be changing the camera perspective to being top-down, having you ride a sled, having you bounce off structures, having you ride a coaster of some sort, Etc. The gameplay sounds quite simple but the enjoyment comes from remembering each mare so you can perfect your loops and get as many points as possible. You're only required to at least get enough points to get a C rank to beat the game, but it's fun to try to do better and get all the A ranks for each level. The visuals of this game are most definitely dated with it being a retro game, but it is a port of a remaster that does clean it up a bit, especially when it comes to the character models and object sprites in the levels. There may only be 7 total levels in this game but they're quite different from each other. You get bouncy museums to gadget deserts, very dreamlike. The music in this game is pretty damn peak and has become one of my favorite soundtracks. It's so sparkly and tranquil, even incorporating some great jazz. Themes like "The Dragon Gave A Loud Scream" or "The Mantle" and "Dreams Dreams" are amazing. If you're not super interested in buying this game then you at least owe it to yourself to listen to the music that this game has to offer. SEGA doesn't miss when it comes to music lol. I only tried this game because it's going to be shadow-realmed on December 6th. I really wish I had tried it before though because I like what this game does so much now and I want more of it. If you're someone who really likes appealing media and perfecting your gameplay, then this will be a magical experience. Rip Dreamcast Collection ;(
