Honestly, I wish I had played this game sooner than I actually did. Because this quickly became one of my new favourite games of all time after playing it late last year. The actual game play is way more fun than I thought it'd be and incredibly addicting! Not sure much for the parts at the start of the levels where your able to just run around as the two kids pre fusing with NiGHTS which let's be real, isn't that fun to do. I mean it's cool that you can actually explore the levels as them and see more of them than you would as NiGHTS and can even get the first Idya but considering you don't get any points if you do that before becoming NiGHTS it's not worth it. Just walk straight to NiGHTS and start the level proper. No, the actual gameplay as NiGHTS is what does it for me! Flying around and collecting the blue spheres to unlock the Idya capuals which also grant you bonus points as long as you don't instantly return to the starting point and getting a high score and rank is really dam fun. Some may argue that the game's two short and that that devalues it a bit but considering this is one of those games your meant to play multiple times for a high score AND it came from a completely different age for gaming entirely I don't actually mind the length at all! Plus, if I'm being honest, a longer game doesn't always equal a better game. Helps that NiGHTS themselves is a really entertaining character as well. There's no story outside of the manual and the cutsences for both kid characters but NiGHTS displays so much personality in just there animations alone along with there desing that they quickly became a favorite character and Journy of Dreams which does have more of a story in game just helped with me loving there character even more. And the fact that this version of the game not only lets you play with either the newer remastered visulas or the original SEGA Saturn visual AND comes with Christmas NiGHTS Into Dreams as a bonus level makes this the best way to play this classic game. Or at least it WOULD if you could actually still buy this game! Or really, a lot of SEGA's other games they delisted for some reason. Yeah, play this via emulation, either the PS2 version or the Saturn original, or buy it on the PS3 PSN store since it's still up on that. Trust me, this game is worth it.

"NIGHTs Into Dreams..." is one of those games you need to play at least 5 times. It's what got me to buy "NIGHTs Journey of Dreams..." second hand. I love the NIGHTs games, and I'm sure a lot of people do to, so it's surprising to me as to why SEGA would delist the game from Steam. I may never understand why, but the game has certainly left an impact on me and my taste in games. I hope NIGHTs, Reala, Wizeman, and the Nightopians can have the chance to appear again in a new game in the series, although a nice thought, I doubt that'll ever happen.

Sadly this game is no longer available on Steam, which really sucks because that means it's no longer officially available on any modern platforms. If you're ever interested in playing NiGHTS, I recommend emulating the PS2 rerelease, which I'm pretty sure the Steam port used as a base. The game's super addicting once you figure out what you're supposed to do. You don't get a time bonus for clearing levels quickly, only for obtaining Ideya (the special orbs you get by breaking capsules after you get 20 blue orbs. It makes sense ingame, trust me), so the game becomes a race against the clock as you squeeze out as many points as you can before you run out of time. Simple, but effectiveโit's classic Sega arcadey goodness. I just wish there were more levels to play. Also shout out to Reala for having some of the best boss music ever but also dying in like two seconds lmao

One of the most unique, genre-defying, and satisfying games SEGA has ever produced, and that's a high bar! Why on Earth did they de-list this title? Whatever. Go download Mednafen and emulate the original. Crying shame you have to work outside official channels to play such an important Sonic Team title, but I promise it's worth the hassle.
