I'm so 50/50 with this game >.< I enjoyed: ★ Artstyle is gorgeous ★ Kuroyuki & Hanzó are my boys <3 Loved their stories so much. ‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿ Kuroyuki ‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿ MC's bodyguards (Gekkamaru) brother, while fighting with his demons, Kuroyuki holds on tight to the one thing he knows is true; his feelings for you <3 He's a little crazy but I love him. There's some things I didn't like & I'll talk about it later on. ‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿ Hanzó ‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿‿ Prickly as fudge & not the most talkative of LIs but he speaks through his actions, the MC brings out his humanity & ofcourse I'm a sucker for it. Prickly but protective <3 ★ The Mc. I love that she's not completely useless. She may be a rookie but she actually tries to fight. Thank goodness. ★ The story had my interest the entire time. I was hooked! The story can change quite drastically depending on who you're trying to romance. Every replay continued to be interesting & fun. ︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶ I didn't enjoy: ☆ Kuroyuki Kuroyuki & his brother grew up with MC. Kuroyuki was sent away when he was a kid. He hasn't seen the MC in 8 years[roughly?]. When the MC & Kuroyuki get close, he does some shady stuff which is whatever but the one thing that bugged the sh*t out of me the entire way through his storyline was his OBSESSION with repetitively talking about the memory of the MC & him "suckling from the same breast" when they were babies. I understand it's being used as a symbol for how unbreakable their bond used to be & maybe it's a me issue but it just made me uncomfortable lol. ☆ Chójiró I loved Chójiró's art design so I chose him as my first LI & oh boy... I loved his angsy storyline & everything except for the fact that he's the MC's COUSIN which I didn't know until the first chapter so I felt like someone flung a brick at my head on the first couple of minutes & I cringed everytime it was brought up. /).(\ There's probably more but I'm going off pure memory atm. ︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶︶⊹︶︶୨୧︶︶⊹︶ I was going to NOT recommend this game simply because of the cousin fiasco & dialogue but honestly, the kiss CG was so good so as long as you can ignore the cousin & the dialogue choices, maybe you'll enjoy it lol

"Why is it you? Why is it me?" Kenjiro Tsuda is the VA for Hanzo, that in itself is enough to play this VN. An absolutely diamond of an otome game. The kind of game that you'll chase the feeling for in the next otome games you play. I highly, highly recommend~

[Me, browsing Steam sales ca 2021]: "What is this weeb ♥♥♥♥? Eh, it's on sale. Maybe I'll be in anime mood one of these days.." (4 years later....) [Me, browsing my library looking for something to lighten the mood after finishing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33]: "Ohh, this weeb ♥♥♥♥ I bought ages ago... Anime shinobi romance? Jesus, people. Who is this Hanzo everyone talks about? Well, why not..." [6 hours later, at 1 am, face full of tears, heart thundering in my chest, sweat beads on my back and my breasts tender]: "...Hanzo. What have you done to me. How can I move on??" And this is how I got a Nintendo Switch to play the Otomes not available on Steam and a CrunchyRoll subscription.

I love this game!! 🥹 - The voice acting is GREAT, not only the love interest ones, but all the characters too! To be honest, I bought this game just because I saw that Kenjiro Tsuda was voicing one of the LIs, heh. - The art is GORGEOUS; I couldn't help but screenshot every CG I saw even though all of them were in the gallery after seeing them once. - The soundtrack is good, but to me it wasn't memorable apart from the good ending song (絶えざる花 / MAKOTO), which I listened to way too much... - I liked the bad endings way more than the good endings (I yearn for angst) , because they were all GREAT and well written. Nightshade's story basically branches to two slightly different storylines ("a" and "b"), so my route order recommendation to avoid major spoilers is: a) GOEMON > HANZO > KUROYUKI b) CHOJIRO > GEKKAMARU And lastly, my thoughts about the routes without spoiling it too much: Hanzo's route: Slow burn and healthy relationship! What I like the most here is how both of them learn and grow with each other, all that made love flourish in their journey, making them better individuals. Enju's character development here was really good; this is the only route she fought and stood her ground; in the other routes she was just there to be protected by the LI. The way they fell in love with each other felt so natural, I loved it so much :> Goemon's route: Super fun, cute and wholesome! Goemon is too sweet, I felt warm and fuzzy inside and couldn't stop smiling at his good ending. I wasn't expecting much cuz flirty LI love interests aren't my first choice, but Goemon's actions made the romance in this route feel really mundane, I enjoyed it very much! Gekkamaru's route: Filled with angst and devotion. I felt so emotional throughout the whole route (I cried a lot) and by the ending, I just couldn't feel much, I was numb even to the good ending, which was bittersweet because of everything that happened. Everything was just so unfair. Kuroyuki's route: Yandere. I'm not into characters with this type of personality, but his background for explaining why he became obsessed with Enju is just tragic and well written, that made me sympathize with Kuroyuki. The route is very enjoyable and heartbreaking, it has a great finishing to one of the branching storylines. I especially liked his Bad Ending just because my heart was destroyed when I realized what was happening :') Chojiro's route: I don't know what to talk about this route, I do understand the struggles Chojiro went through, but I didn't sympathize with Chojiro at all, the story felt bland to me and I basically played through with my mind blank. I don't really know if this route didn't really add anything to the plot (apart from a bit of info on the other characters) or if it was because this was my last route. But yeah, this is the only route I didn't like playing.
