[H1] Northern Journey was an experience. [/H1] Unless you are extremely put off by low fidelity graphics or janky (but satisfying) gameplay then you owe it to yourself to play Northern Journey. It more than lives up to its name and there isn't anything else quite like it out there. It's beautiful, it's fun, it's sad, it's creepy, it's an ADVENTURE and all that tied together by the amazing score. A game that could have just as easily been a walking simulator because the atmosphere is THAT good but also has a big roster of enemies, weapons and tons of puzzles to figure out and a lovely cast of characters. Yes it is jank, yes a couple of the boss fights suck donkey dung but the good far outweigh the bad in its case and it all comes together to offer one of the most unique experiences I've had in gaming so far. Amazing game. Was magical the whole way through and had some locales I will not forget easily. I don't usually leave reviews but this game deserves a lot more popularity than it has.

This is a very good game. It has an extremely unique vibe and atmosphere. the characters were engaging and the game was surprisingly beatiful considering the rough, to say the least, graphics. That being said, it SEVERELY overstays it's welcome. the last third or so was just unpleasant to play. I was so ready for the game to end for about 3 areas and god knows how many bosses. It feels like the devs didn't know when to stop and just kep adding stuff. as a result the game ends up feeling bloated. That is not helped by the fact that the last few bosses were just not fun fights. adding 35 minions to a fight against a toughter than normal enemy doesn't make a good boss. Did we really need 5 version of the final boss one after the other? I don't want to sound like I hate the game. I still enjoyed it and the devs should be very proud of what they acomplished. It clearly has a lot of passion behind it. I can't overstate how much I love the bizarre vibe of this game, I just think it would have been better as a shorter experience. took me around 13 hours to beat and personally I think something between 8 and 10 would have been perfect
