The best use of live action actors in a video game that I have ever seen. I'm doubtful it will offer any replay value, but I had a fantastic time completing one play through. Long live Jeremy Donaldson.

This is a game about fascism. It's wonderfully veiled in comedy and irreverence, but the underlying theme is extremely serious. It's been a surreal experience to play it alongside the rising tide of authoritarianism that attempts to envelope the real world, especially in my own backyard. In a sense, this is a guide to civil disobedience, and why it's so critical to a democracy's survival. Comedy has a way of cutting through to the core of political discourse without dramatizing or sensationalizing the subject matter. Laugh at the joke sitting in front of the stage, but contextualize and reflect on the drive home. The images on screen are largely farcical and outlandish, but the narrative, Alex's story, and even the menu music remain somber throughout as a reminder of what you're facing individually and as a society. The gameplay ain't bad either. It's effectively a broadcast room simulator, with mini-game elements that evolve and stack on to the difficulty as the plot drives forward. It's unlike anything I've ever played before, and certainly a fresh title in an otherwise genre-less corner of the gaming world.
