This game was crazy! What a gem. I've never been a fan of point and click games, but I could not stop playing this. Music could get repetitive at some points and I never improved at interrogating, but I enjoyed the story and the hacking part. It was such a clever idea the house arrest and use of dones, robots and cameras. I got the bad ending and I regret nothing about the last chapter. Overall 10/10 and would go down as one of my favorites.
This game exceeded my expectations by far. I was just expecting some simple hacker game, but instead I got such a captivating and immersive story with a great twist that tied everything together perfectly. Definitely worth its price, and I'm kinda sad there isn't a sequel, but considering how important the twist is to the ending, I also don't think one would work. Overall, 10/10. Definitely a hidden gem, and it deserves way more love.
In its simplicity, this game is awesome! I love the graphics and the atmospheric music (even if it gets a bit repetitive after a few hours of play) and the story is socio-critical in a sci-fi way and makes you think. Although the story takes a bit of time to build up, but at a certain point it sucks you in and the end is... devastating in a good way! So if you like games with a focus on story and a detective vibe with simple but not boring gameplay, Song of Farca is definitely for you! Of course, not everything is perfect. As P.I., a kind of hacker detective, you have different cases that you work on from your computer. The files created per case also contain information about characters that reappear in later cases. However, the information collected from previous cases about these people is gone with each new case and you don't have an archive or anything like that where you could access it. Which I think is a pity, because past information becomes quite relevant in the course of the story. And as a person who played the game with sometimes longer breaks in between, I missed this "refreshing of memories". There are also small puzzles in between that you have to solve to get codes. And to be honest, I didn't understand many hints and had to look for the solution on the Internet to be able to continue playing. But that will vary from person to person, i guess. For example, I had no problem with the larger ventilation puzzle in contrast to many people i found complaining about it online :D But even in a tricky case, you still have your cyborg dog that you can watch hopping around the apartment in an impressive way. So, what are you waiting for?
Song of Farca is a pretty middle of the road detective hacking game, I have played better games in this genre but this game was pretty enjoyable for what it is. The puzzles, while mostly repetitive are pretty enjoyable and I did enjoy the split screen design. I enjoyed watching the dog while waiting for Isabella to finally sit down.
