I personally enjoyed this game and im debating on buying the dlc only bad thing about this game is the very horrid english translation on some texts. Like the mispelling on angel as angle, aswell as grammar mistakes with discribing objects or people. This may impact some peoples gameplay so beware of that. But in the end you get what you pay for :p EDIT: The dlc is not worth it unless you want to 100% the achivements like I did LOL. Just a warning the volleyball game is rigged and almost impossible to win. The dlc also has very confusing puzzles that unless you are very intellectual will be almost impossbile or even might I say IMPOSSIBLE to figure out without a tutorial or a walk thru. The story also gets sorta confusing.
༶•┈┈୨ Always play Nyakori with the DLC ୧┈┈•༶ There is also an optional top tier game sequel named Nyaruru Fishy Fight. It is not necessary to play the sequel to fully enjoy this game, nor is necessary to start here to enjoy the sequel, since both are sufficiently self-contained stories alone (however they still compliment each other very deeply); my advice is start where your initial interest is the highest and proceed as your prefer. The developer is also cooking a 3rd game with unrelated story, another soft horror RPG with the same characters, keep an eye for another jewel! +*:ꔫ Horror Disclaimer ꔫ:*﹤ If you come from Nyaruru like me, be warned the amount of disturbing material is relevantly higher, but it is still firmly on soft horror territory. Personally I have a very small stomatch for horror and it disturbs me heavily easily, but the amount & presentation in Nyakori felt both fair, reasonable in amount and very tolerable in kind for me. Mind that, this game can get very scary easily, but it does so through a very clever use of its elements. ⑅ ♥̩̥̩♥̩̩̥͙♥̩͙ˊˎBrilliant author, impressive gameplay & story -ˏˋ♥̩͙♥̩̩̥͙♥̩̥̩ ⑅ What I can say about this jewel? Spoiling the story would be a shame, but I can comment on a surface level it is a very unique yuri which merges very creative gameplay elements in an unique way that can't be separated from each other, as the emotions builds up, the complexity of the gameplay elements increases, and gradually shifts from simple puzzles in a regular horror start into more unique mechanics, which are very deeply connected tt the story in a very natural way that builds up the game's setting in very unforgettable ways. ⋇⊶⊰ Pace at your preference ⊱⊷⋇ The game includes a total of around 12hr of content (with the DLC), but if you would like to do the game in a single night sitting of 3hr, that is perfectly possible, or if you want to see some of the additional dialogues and scenes, but avoiding exhaustation, a regular playthrough takes around 5-7hrs (using a guide is recommended). Most of the missable content is not important per se, but helps building up the setting & emotions further, so it is recommended to take your time if you have the time & energy for it. I was hooked from the start. Got it finished with one ending in a sitting. I was super happy with the ending. Then watched a playthrough of another ending and was gutted (in a good way). So many emotions in a night. The second watch helped smooth out the story. Absolutely worth the price, especially if on sale.
This game looks like your average anime RPG-maker indie game on the surface, but let me tell you, this game offers quite a bit more to think about and digest with its creepy atmosphere and somewhat cryptic story. This game is a puzzle game mixed with some horror elements, and throughout the course of the game, it tackles themes of grief and identity to show how much someone is willing to hold on to those they love even when they are gone. You’ll learn about each character’s backstories, how they all intertwine with one another, and how things ended up the way they did. There are multiple endings and hidden secrets within the game that add to the game’s story. The music is simple but adds a lot of great atmosphere in the very chilling and unsettling locations you visit. The characters are quite cute in design, and if you are a fan of catgirls or just the cutesy anime aesthetic, you’ll be in for a treat. The game was developed first in Chinese, so while there is an English translation, there are noticeable grammatical errors and phrasing issues. There have been attempts at making the translation better, but you will still be able to enjoy the game despite the translation quality. The game lasts about 2-3 hours to beat for your first time, mostly depending on how long it takes for you to tackle some of the puzzles, and it took me about ~6 hours to achieve all the endings and achievements (including DLC). This game does have a smaller DLC add-on that adds an after-story that continues off of the main game, so if you are planning on getting the game, I strongly encourage you to get both the main game and the DLC. The price is pretty low, but you get a good amount of content out of how much you spend. For those also looking for more, “Nyaruru Fishy Fight” is another game made by the same developer that acts as a sequel to this game, and takes on a new gameplay style in the form of a metroidvania. It adds a lot more context and ties up any loose ends that might not be fully explained in this game.
