Nyakori's Rabbit Doll is a narrative-driven horror puzzle RPG developed and published by 赤瞳大白猫 that demonstrates how a seemingly cute and harmless adventure can gradually evolve into something far more mysterious and emotionally engaging. Built with a classic RPG Maker foundation, the game combines exploration, environmental puzzles, light horror elements, and character-focused storytelling into a compact but memorable experience. While its charming visuals may initially suggest a lighthearted adventure, the game slowly reveals darker themes and hidden truths that give the journey far more depth than first impressions might indicate. The story centers on Nyarutoru, a cat-eared girl whose simple life is suddenly disrupted when she wakes to discover that the people closest to her have disappeared. Motivated by a desire to find her companions and understand what happened, she ventures into unfamiliar locations filled with traps, obstacles, and strange clues. What begins as a straightforward search quickly develops into a deeper mystery involving forgotten memories, hidden relationships, and secrets that have remained buried for a long time. The narrative steadily expands its scope without abandoning its personal focus, making every revelation feel meaningful. One of the game's most effective qualities is its ability to create suspense through atmosphere rather than relying heavily on conventional horror techniques. The environments are colorful and visually inviting, yet there is always an underlying sense of discomfort lingering beneath the surface. Players are encouraged to question what they see and to pay attention to small details that may initially appear insignificant. This gradual buildup of tension creates an engaging sense of curiosity that drives the story forward. Exploration forms the foundation of the gameplay experience. Players spend much of their time navigating interconnected areas, investigating objects, and searching for clues that help uncover the truth. The game rewards careful observation, often hiding important information within environmental details or optional interactions. Progression feels satisfying because discoveries are earned through investigation rather than simply handed to the player through exposition. Puzzle-solving is another important component of the adventure. The game features a variety of environmental challenges that require logical thinking and attention to detail. Rather than relying on overly complex mechanics, the puzzles are designed to complement the story and encourage exploration. Most solutions feel intuitive once understood, creating a steady sense of accomplishment as players advance through the narrative. The inclusion of built-in hint systems also helps ensure that players can continue progressing even when they encounter particularly challenging sections. A notable feature is the use of multiple perspectives. Although Nyarutoru serves as the primary protagonist, the game occasionally allows players to experience events through the eyes of other characters. This narrative technique adds depth to the story by presenting different viewpoints and revealing information that would otherwise remain hidden. As these perspectives converge, the mystery becomes increasingly compelling and encourages players to reconsider earlier assumptions. The relationship between Nyarutoru and Nyakori provides much of the emotional core of the game. Their connection feels genuine and gradually becomes more significant as the story unfolds. The developers succeed in making players care about these characters despite the game's relatively short length. Their interactions help ground the larger mystery in personal emotions, giving the narrative greater impact when important revelations occur. Visually, Nyakori's Rabbit Doll is impressive for an independent RPG Maker project. The pixel-art environments are colorful and detailed, while character sprites feature expressive animations that help bring the cast to life. Numerous illustrated CG scenes are used throughout the story to emphasize key moments and strengthen emotional scenes. These visual elements contribute significantly to the game's atmosphere and elevate the overall presentation beyond what many players might expect from a project of this scale. The soundtrack deserves recognition as well. Music is used effectively to reinforce both the lighter and darker aspects of the experience. Peaceful melodies accompany exploration and character interactions, while more ominous compositions emerge during moments of tension and discovery. The audio design consistently supports the narrative and helps maintain immersion throughout the adventure. One of the game's strongest achievements is its pacing. The story unfolds steadily, introducing new information at a rate that keeps players invested without becoming overwhelming. New mysteries arise as older questions are answered, creating a satisfying cycle of discovery. The relatively short runtime also works in the game's favor, ensuring that the narrative remains focused and avoids unnecessary filler content. Replay value is enhanced through the inclusion of multiple endings. Players can encounter different conclusions depending on the choices they make and the information they uncover. The presence of bad endings, a normal ending, and a true ending encourages thorough exploration and rewards those who fully engage with the game's mysteries. This structure adds additional longevity and gives players a reason to revisit the adventure. While the game excels in many areas, its limited scope may leave some players wishing for a longer experience. The world and characters are interesting enough to support additional development, and certain story elements could have benefited from more extensive exploration. Nevertheless, the concise length also ensures that the narrative remains tightly constructed and consistently engaging. Nyakori's Rabbit Doll succeeds by combining charming visuals, thoughtful puzzle design, emotional storytelling, and subtle horror into a cohesive package. It demonstrates how a small independent project can create a memorable experience through strong atmosphere and effective narrative design. Fans of RPG Maker adventures, mystery stories, and character-driven horror games will find much to appreciate in its carefully crafted journey. Rating: 9/10

I personally enjoyed this game and im debating on buying the dlc only bad thing about this game is the vey horrid english translation on some texts. Like the mispelling on angel as angle, aswell as grammar mistakes with discribing objects or people. This may impact some peoples gameplay so beware of that. But in the end you get what you pay for :p

Everything in this game is great i enjoyed it through the end Art Story Sound Characters And the amount of effort Dev put in it is very neat, I don't even see it in other RPGMaker games (especially POV change) Except one thing..........That questionable ending, like BRUH, Seriously? Thats it??

This game looks like your average anime RPG-maker indie game on the surface, but let me tell you, this game offers quite a bit more to think about and digest with its creepy atmosphere and somewhat cryptic story. This game is a puzzle game mixed with some horror elements, and throughout the course of the game, it tackles themes of grief and identity to show how much someone is willing to hold on to those they love even when they are gone. You’ll learn about each character’s backstories, how they all intertwine with one another, and how things ended up the way they did. There are multiple endings and hidden secrets within the game that add to the game’s story. The music is simple but adds a lot of great atmosphere in the very chilling and unsettling locations you visit. The characters are quite cute in design, and if you are a fan of catgirls or just the cutesy anime aesthetic, you’ll be in for a treat. The game was developed first in Chinese, so while there is an English translation, there are noticeable grammatical errors and phrasing issues. There have been attempts at making the translation better, but you will still be able to enjoy the game despite the translation quality. The game lasts about 2-3 hours to beat for your first time, mostly depending on how long it takes for you to tackle some of the puzzles, and it took me about ~6 hours to achieve all the endings and achievements (including DLC). This game does have a smaller DLC add-on that adds an after-story that continues off of the main game, so if you are planning on getting the game, I strongly encourage you to get both the main game and the DLC. The price is pretty low, but you get a good amount of content out of how much you spend. For those also looking for more, “Nyaruru Fishy Fight” is another game made by the same developer that acts as a sequel to this game, and takes on a new gameplay style in the form of a metroidvania. It adds a lot more context and ties up any loose ends that might not be fully explained in this game.

I like this game but I'm stupid so I had to use a guide to get through it (;^-^) I'm pretty sure this game was translated from Chinese so there are some grammar mistakes here and there but its not so bad to the point where you can't understand what the characters are saying. also there's a cute cat girl (>-<)
