Angels of Death Episode.Eddie is a very good and sad psychological horror, adventure game and a pretty good prequel/spin-off to the first Angels of Death game, but now let's talk about the story. Eddie Mason who became the boss of the third floor thanks to the Reverend his job was to kill and make graves for all who visited his floor, but how did he become this way and why, this is a story of how a young, caring and empathetic kid becomes this crazed killer. Okay then the likes, the story is really good getting to see one of the killers backstories is an interesting idea and it's very well written too, I like the themes of neglect, mental illness and the warning of not just ignoring the problem and sticking to old traditions when clearly it was one of the main problems. I also like how real it feels, seeing a sweet and very empathetic kid like Eddie turn into the monster he later on becomes in the first game is both fascinating and heartbreaking. The characters are good and well written I really do like Eddie and the friendship with the girl, the creators really took this character who in the first game was a little creepy and definitely disturbed and gave him a really well thought out and empathetic backstory showing us how he became crazy. The gameplay is okay it's like the same with angels of death you just go around picking up items to advance in the story although the game doesn't have any real puzzles to solve except for one in the opening part and it's a just a choice puzzle. The pixel graphic art style is good as I said with these old school pixel art games it can show that graphics aren't really important, but like I said the graphics are good probably even better than the first game, I particularly like its uses of colors, design and scenery especially the scenery for the final part of the game. The levels are good each area is distinct and beautiful to look at it; I particularly like the cliff and starlight Motif in one part of the game it was very beautiful. The music is good as each track definitely fits the game very well. Now is this game scary, not really it's more disturbing as we witness Eddie's descent into madness and who he becomes later on in angels of death. Okay then the dislikes, honestly there's nothing really to dislike about this game it's pretty perfect, I mean if I had to say something I probably do wish there was more to do in the game maybe a few mini games but that's just me, honestly like angels of death, this feels more like a virtual novel then a full on RPG Maker horror game like The Witch's House and mad father but that's just me personally. So with that finally all done Angels of Death Episode.Eddie is a very good and sad psychological horror, adventure game and a pretty good prequel/spin-off to the first Angels of Death game, it has a really good story, good characters and good levels. So I definitely recommend this game if you're a fan of the first angels of death game then you’re definitely going to want this game, I honestly hope that the creator does more mini episodes with the other characters that were in the first game.

very short game, but i enjoyed it. i remember being a young teen and reading a fan translation before it got an english release and came to steam... the translation in the real thing is a little awkward at times but easy enough to understand. just like the original game, this one is very edgy - even moreso. if you're sensitive to child abuse and animal abuse, be warned - there is A LOT of it. it doesn't have many of the puzzle aspects that the original angels of death did, it's more like a walkable visual novel. lots of sections where eddie will move on his own, not many things to interact with. it does its job as a prequel and a means to tell eddie's story. if you liked the original AOD, you'll enjoy this. the story is much simpler and the character motivations are easier to parse than in the original, and for an RPGMaker game, i was actually pretty blown away by the overworld sprites. as always, makoto sanada's art style is adorable and effective for the games she creates!!

Such a great addition to the Angels of Death story! I wish they did one for each of the characters ;o; it was so nice to get a thorough backstory for Eddie. Devs, PLEASE MAKE MORE! <3
