I'm not sure if this game should be classified as a survival horror, it is more of a walking simulator, like a ghost train kinda thing, where you roll along and scary things happen. It's fun though, I love the Jurassic Park feel. The graphics are kinda simple, but the sound effects and mood music are on point. It would be a good game to play for children maybe. I did get legitimately scared for two jump scares. The game flows well and is super easy to beat. Not sure if I would pay full price for Oakwood, buy on sale maybe. For Achievement Hunters: I completed 100% this game in 2 hours, using a guide for collecting totems (as they are really, really tiny, good luck finding them without a guide.) The great thing is once you finish the game you can go back and redo chapters where you may have missed totems, so you don't have to do a whole second playthru.

Now im going to be honest, this game is not that good the animations are sloppy and there is not that much suspense... BUT for the 1.39 i paid for it i cant complain as the plot was interesting. It will take you around an hour. Its not hard. At the beginning of the game they did a good job at adding suspense and keeping my heart beating but once you encounter your first dinosaur the running animations and and unrealistic movement make it less scary. The audio was fairly good for what you payed. In general if this game was priced even a dollar higher than its retail price i would say its a waste of money but the devs seem to understand the worth of their game. So while the game itself isnt the greatest its not unbearable and if you love dinosaurs then youll enjoy your time anyways. It takes only an hour to beat so i wouldnt even say its a waste of time, hopefully with the money the devs get from this game they are able to produce a more well made game

Steam Deck Playable - No Issues on latest release of Proton (9.02) Oakwood is a short “Walking Sim” style horror game featuring dinosaurs. I had a lot of fun with it during its hour long run time. There aren’t exactly a lot of Horror games featuring dinosaurs and while you might not be fighting back against these prehistoric beasts, the game does a good job of keeping things tense as you try to outwit and outrun them. If you’ve been hankering for a dinosaur horror game to scratch an itch you might have, this should do the job.
