at least two reviews liken this to fear and i think they might have brain damage but it was a pretty good 2/5 game, now if you'll excuse me, its time for me to get back to being a single loser

If FEARs Alma is too scary and the battalions of AI soldiers too difficult for you, give Operation Thunderstorm a try. Cut from the same cloth as the aforementioned FEAR, both are using the LithTech Jupiter Ex Engine, which makes for some satisfying shooting excursions. However, that's everything these two titles have in common. OT was born in a time when people were already fed up with WW2 shooters and just before City Interactive started their re-branding, both in name and products, to move away from their somewhat jank-ridden image. And it shows. Operation Thunderstorm arguably has some of the most funny dialogue I've ever heard in recent years, just because the writing and acting is just comically bad. This might be related to me being a German, able to understand everything the soldiers are talking about but in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter anyways. If you have 2-3 hours to spare, pick up your rifle and kill three of Nazi Germanys most dangerous man, neatly packaged into some maze-like, interconnected missions you won't even remember if asked for at gunpoint. It's janky, it's cheap but it's also a whole lot of fun. The shooting feels great, which won't surprise anyone who ever played the first two FEAR-games. Just do yourself a favor and get an unofficial uncensored patch (it can be easily found under Guides) to not only unlock historically accurate icongraphy but also blood and gore effects. Without them, the game feels lacking, to put it mildly. I got my copy on sale for 1$ and it was a dollar perfectly spent.

The story is weak, but the gameplay slaps. It’s fun, a little janky on modern systems, and that roughness gives it a certain charm. Surprisingly, this is the 4th game in the series (known in Poland as Mortyr 4: Operation Thunderstorm), which introduced me to earlier titles I never knew about. It’s short, around 3 hours, but worth it if you’ve got a bit of spare time and cash.

Rather potato quality but if you want some old-school WW2 stealthy action get it for like 1 dollar/euro.

Mediocre all around clone of older Call of Duty/Medal of Honor games coming in package with dead multiplayer and two and a half hours long campaign. I would not recommend it if it was just that, but the fact that it's made on the same engine as F.E.A.R. actually makes combat somewhat hilarious: with ragdolls flying everywhere and guns feeling pretty good. It also goes on sale for a dollar. Which is arguably the best thing about this game.
