Hi!! I am hoping this review helps someone, because I would have loved to know this information before purchasing at the end of 2024. For medical and ergonomic reasons I am a controller player. I cannot use KB/M for play. I have been looking for a Theme Park game with great controller support that doesn’t just feel like I am moving the mouse with the left stick for YEARS. In 2024, we have two good options for this. Planet Coaster 2, and Park Beyond (this game). Not only is the controller support amazing, but it feels exactly as desired and that I expect, for playing with a controller. Smooth; intuitive; and proper prompts. 100% 👍🏻 I don’t dislike PC2 or this game, it goes down to taste. Do you want to control every aspect of your park in every detail? PC2. Do you want to have moderate control, but keep it more about building? Park Beyond. That said, Park Beyond has WAY BETTER controller support. They both control well and are accessible, but Park Beyond flows better. This coming from someone who uses an Xbox or PS controller 100% of the time, even when just navigating windows or Linux. As for the gameplay outside of controllers and style - I feel this game is underrated AS OF NOW. They added and fixed a lot, making the complete edition a great package. The developers are responsive and responsible. Was not as good at launch, but it is now. Hope this helps someone make a purchase decision.

This game deserves much more love and attention than it got. I have played many different theme park games through the years and this is the first one that has been able to capture my attention like RCT 2 did. The mechanics of this game are fantastic and being able to upgrade rides by impossification is EXACTLY what a game like this needs! It pushes you to keep going and improving the rides, staff, and shops by upgrading them adds a level of strategy and satisfaction that many games like this are missing. Different rides and shops are unlocked through a sort of tech tree/milestones much like city skylines is which really helps build a level of connection to your park as you grow it slowly overtime rather than having everything all unlocked from the gecko. This game has all the attention to detail that you would expect in a roller tycoon game with guest needs, maintenance, being able to ride ur rides, day-night cycle, and all the analytics you could possibly want. Decorating is free and straightforward offering a level of simplistic and complexity you could ever need. No other game has ever made me work on decorating as I typically find it too cumbersome to manage but just placing a few trees and rocks makes everything look so much better. The maps in this game are fantastic and offer a verity of scenery, challenges, and are extremely detailed. The campaign in this game is the best coaster campaign I have ever played with cut scenes and likable characters and even rivals that try to sabotage your park at every turn allowing for difficulty that is always missing in these types of games. The only negative I have with the game is that with coasters you cannt have more than 1 train car for some reason but you get todo special things with coasters that I have never seen before including splitting the train into multiple carriages, having the coaster room directly on land like you see in Jurassic park world. The DLCs of this game are quite disappointing as others have mentioned but there are more than enough different rides that you can build a really great theme park without them. I can not recommend giving this game a try enough

I got this game on sale for $10. I spent the entire next week navigating the campaign mode and had a really great time. I was addicted. What I love the most is building roller coasters that defy logic and physics and this game gives you the opportunity to do so. I played Planet Coaster beside this game and found that park beyond was more intuitive and allowed me to easily design my own whacky and crazy roller coasters, while Planet Coaster was restrictive and the controls felt clunky. You can really go crazy with your parks if you put your time into it. I would recommend this game to people who enjoy roller coaster sims. However, expect the rides to defy normal physics and really dial in on the impossible elements. IMO roller coaster sims that allow you to build rides that defy logic are way more fun than a realistic sim. I believe there is a market for games like this. I hope they build upon this release and make a sequel, even though the game likely didn't perform well. I played on visionary difficulty which is second to the easiest difficulty and I found the game almost impossible to beat. In my games my Guest's needs would revolve around food and toilets and even after building more facilities to meet those needs stores would go negative in profit and I would eventually end up in the whole at some point in my play through requiring me sometimes to delete half my park to stabilize and progress in the story. Overall if you like roller coaster sims or want to get into the genre, I feel like this game would be a great intro, but not for $40. Get the game on sale if possible.

I see a lot of reviews here comparing this game to RCT. That is understandable because RCT is a long-running franchise that includes Planet Coaster. However, the fact is that this is from a completely different developer, and they were not at all looking to create a "Realistic" sim. Instead, the game focuses on fun and imagination which in my opinion, the game absolutely excels at. While there are not as many customization options at the moment compared to Planet Coaster, the game certainly has its own identity and in my opinion, it has the best campaign system in any tycoon-esk game I've played. it has a perfect progression for beginners and allows you to become more accustomed to the different aspects of the game. Personally, RCT has always felt far more complex to the point where I felt it restricted my creativity. In Park Beyond, I have not had the slightest sense of that. Absolutely recommend this game!
