TRICKY ONE TO REVIEW, For me. i will update as the game progresses. its basically planet zoo mechanics, but dino's. Which is AWSOME. iv waited 38 years for a concept like this. pros - graphics and animal behaviour is excellent. beautiful game, easy to understand. the devo has clearly put years of there life into the background of the game which is simply awesome. bad bits - i think this is a one man crew, which is not a bad thing, the complexity of this game is unreal and the person in development should have a tap on the back and a well done son ! this game was released in 2022 and its still got basic bugs and poor micro mechanics such as finance and construction. now, the in game detail per animal, the information and the in game "warden" who foes deep into explaining the animals is just fantastic and a joy to listen to. this genre is my bread and butter for gaming and has been since the 90's. am supper excited to see how it develops, £23 is a steal to get into the game but, its not completely playable imo at the moment. however, that just might be my poor understanding of the mechanics, rushing, not spending time reading the information. i do think this developer is onto something here and this could make planet zoo look like sim city 2000

The dinosaur park game I've wanted ever since I was 11. When I was a kid, I played Zoo Tycoon Complete collection and Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate Collection, I loved those games and of course I loved making a dinosaur focused park. Dinosaurs have been a passion of mine for so long, When the Jurassic World games were announced I was excited but soon disappointed because it still wasn't exactly what I was seeking. Then came along Prehistoric Kingdom, a beautiful game where the dinosaurs actually feel like living, breathing animals and not these fantasy beings. The models are just gorgeous, the details are, ahhhhh, I don't have the words! I find myself watching these big creatures walk and just being mesmerised at how the artists depicted that they have weight to them, seeing the body ripple from each heavy step. Don't be put off from the early access part of this game, it's worth every single penny, you get regular updates, in depth updates! where you can see what is being worked on and what to look forward to in the future, you even see them talk about what parts of the process is being tricky and that's a dev team I love, it makes you feel like you're also a part of the process in some way. The best part is honestly their creature ageing system, it's so streamlined, it's truly a feat! Plus I love how they've added the choice where you can create lil creatures that stay in a younger form. This game does use a modular building aspect which I won't lie, is a little daunting at first, but I am slowly getting used to it. It is partly choice paralysis but they do provide prebuild prefabs for you, plus there's the workshop! Honestly, if there is any type of criticism I have for this game, is just that I'd love to see some more animal enrichment things and maybe some more small interactions and animations. Even then, I have a sense that this is something the devs would be looking into anyway. If you like dinosaurs, this is a game for you. I can't wait to see what else they bring to this game!

This is amazing. I play it with my kid and it's been a magical experience. I particularly like that we see seamless growth from baby to adult for each species. I also have to say its refreshing to see dinosaurs represented as the animals they are, and not like monsters, for a change.

Its really cool to have a dinosaur based game that at least attempts to keep up with the science. I love feathery dinos, so this get automatic points from me.

I'll preface this by saying that I generally, as a rule, don't pick up Early Access games: However I'd been following this games progression for a while & the latest reviews/updates made it seem like a more or less full game was available to play - I wasn't dissapointed! The animals themselves are beautifully rendered & animated, they behave realistically, and the gameplay loop encourages you to place them in natural settings/groups & rewards you for raising family groups. This is a far departure from other Dinosaur games which focus primarily on making Dinosaurs fight each other. The park management, terrain building, and object building is also very fleshed out & I found it much less frustrating than say - Planet Zoo. All in all this is a real gem & I'm really looking forward to seeing the full release! They do move in herds...
