I'd advise beginners not to jump straight into copying guides. A huge part of the fun in this game comes from figuring out your own strategies. The satisfaction of discovering a powerful combo that no one has mentioned yet is even better than the win itself.

Imagine Slay the Spire and Balatro went out to a bar. Met a Pirate that loved craps and they had a three way. It's my story so they all made a baby. Pirate's Gambit is that baby. If you like two of the things I mentioned then buy this game. Value for fun is off the charts.

This review won't do the game justice... TL;DR - Buy it. The game is stunningly (and creepily) beautiful, "relaxed" yet very engaging and satisfying. You're fished out of the sea by pirates (naturally) and this mysterious game appears with you. You're rolling dice which are scored with different multiplies for each combo type (pair, 2 pair, 3 of a kind). There are also cards/deckbuilding, trinkets, and dice variants that all affect the rules. (For example, maybe you roll 4 of kind, but you have an active card giving you a higher multiplier if you only "play" 3 of a kind.) As the pirate ship moves around the game board, there are encounters/events, trades, merchants, mini-games. I know, I know ... sounds boring. But it's very "satisfying" to play. It doesn't feel "RNG" at all as you have control over what dice/cards are in play, a limited number of re-rolls, the ability to purchase different cards that play to your strengths, and even have limited control of movement on the game board (to force or avoid certain events). Love it. Game seemed to just drop out of nowhere with no fanfare ... it deserves more attention!

I really love your game. Would you consider adding a UI scaling option? Playing on steamdeck, some UI details are pretty hard to read. It would be awesome if this could be added.
