This game is quite brutal at first, but once you get used to how it works it becomes pretty fun with friends. Some monsters are extremely hard, though, and it's bit unclear on which ones you can hide from. If you go into this game with "I WILL die and that's part of the fun" kind of state of mind is gonna help you have lots of fun with it.
I picked it up on sale while it was $1, and although I was expecting it to be quite a throwaway thing considering the price on sale, it was so fun that I bought it for a handful of other friends, as well! My biggest suggestion would be that I think, unlike some other multiplayer games of the genre, this game would benefit from having more than a maximum of 4 players. Granted, I haven't played much yet, so I don't know how exactly that would scale with other systems like balancing, performance, later mechanics, etc., but I just think splitting off into several groups of 3 or 4 and pilfering really captures the goblin vibe well. Plus, the relatively short-ranged in-game voice chat would mean that besides getting on the bucket to enter and leave each area, I don't think it would get too crowded during regular gameplay with more people.
