A lot of people call this Abandonware but that's only partially the situation. In a sad turn of events, some sort of technical, social or legal disaster left Pathea missing the source code for the multiplayer server of the game. What they did have, which is now free, was the single-player software, but without the source code there's no way to make improvements, changes or add features without creating the game again from the ground up. They didn't do this, and it's not hard to imagine why. The game is what it is. It had potential to be something a million times more but was cut short. I paid money for this game and will always have a soft spot for it, but really wish they'd invested some of that money in a backup system. You can get it for free and at least get a glimpse of what we all had a chance of having. Maybe Planet Explorers 2 will come out and have a better chance of seeing completion.

I am still sad they abandoned this game. It had so much potential and was a ton of fun! i truly hope they come back and finish it. to this day, it had the most unique crafting system ive ever seen in any game and it was probably ahead of its time. Please come back, this game had such good bones and even more potential!!!

A really great game, it's under rated, wish there were more like it, and more people playing it.

Possibly the most underrated sandbox game in existence. No not nearly perfect, yes its dated, and yes the story probably has some bugs. But the creation system in the game is complex and amazing and there are few like it.

I quite like this game, Honestly I have known it was not going to be "finished" for several years but even still I have had a lot of fun with it, Sure now its free and I bought the game when it first showed up on steam but really I got what I payed for. It was disappointing when they scrapped some stuff, but it still has a lot to do in it. Overall I would encourage people to try it, especially now that its free to play
