**Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands – Review** Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands brings the series back to the universe of The Sands of Time, delivering a classic adventure filled with acrobatic platforming, clever puzzles, and spectacular environments. Set between The Sands of Time and Warrior Within, the game follows the Prince as he visits his brother Malik's kingdom and faces a dangerous supernatural threat. The biggest strength of The Forgotten Sands is its gameplay. Wall-running, swinging across poles, dodging deadly traps, and manipulating the environment create some genuinely satisfying platforming sequences. The ability to control the elements adds new possibilities to puzzle-solving, keeping the adventure engaging as the challenges become more complex. The visuals are another highlight, featuring beautiful architecture, impressive environments, and cinematic moments that capture the fantasy atmosphere of the franchise. The story is relatively straightforward, but it provides enough motivation to keep the adventure moving. Unfortunately, the combat is easily the weakest part of the experience. Fighting often feels repetitive and lacks the depth and fluidity that would make encounters more enjoyable. The camera can occasionally be frustrating, and some sections feel too familiar to longtime fans. Nevertheless, the excellent level design and entertaining platforming compensate for many of these shortcomings. Overall, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands is a solid entry in the franchise. It may not reach the heights of The Sands of Time trilogy, but it captures much of the classic Prince of Persia formula and delivers an enjoyable adventure for fans of action-platformers. **Final Verdict:** A nostalgic return to the Sands of Time universe, with fantastic platforming, creative puzzles, and memorable environments held back by mediocre combat. **Rating: 7.5/10**

This game's alright. The puzzles and parkour are the best the series have had. The combat is where it sucks. It is a step down from the other games in every way and feels super repetitve.

I wish I could give this a mixed review, but I suppose I liked it more than not. First off: This needs the uplay launcher which sucks, and you cannot unlock the extra content anymore. And while speaking of the condition ubisoft has left their games in, this one lacks proper synchronization and there's heavy screen tearing, especially in the cutscenes. A couple of stutters make it through here and there too. One can expect launching issues as well. Platforming and parkours are the highlight of this game. Its so fluid and satisfying to pull off at one go. The new mechanics of controlling the flow of water, and further on the abilities to air dash and recall parts of the architecture to move around are really fun. The levels are designed brilliantly and in the later parts of the game, when all of these different aspects work together, it all channels so well. The set pieces and art direction are beautiful. They are so reminiscent of Sand of Time, and feel like a natural successor to that its atmosphere and environments. However, being so similar to Sands of Time is where the problem of the game starts to arise. The whole story feels too similar to that. Except this time the characters feel shallow and flat. The voice acting and dialogue does the heavy lifting for them, especially for the Prince. The plot feels dull and the conclusion does not land a fulfilling ending. The combat has been significantly dumbed down; and gone are the satisfying acrobatic moves. In its place, this game features huge groups of enemies, most if not all, of whom can be taken down with rapid button smashing. There's hardly ever any thinking involved unless its one of the mini bosses, in whose case it soon becomes the same boring rinse and repeat moves. The final boss battle wasn't anything to marvel over either. If anything the platforming before it is much more enjoyable. Skill trees and abilities are also introduced in this instalment, but you'll find only one or two of them actually useful; not counting the ones that increase health, energy slots, etc. The rewind mechanic is significantly uninvolved and toned down too. Its almost forgettable unless you make a tiny mistake. It's a fun game, but it could have been much better had the same amount of thought and effort was put into the story and combat, as they did to the platforming, parkours and level designs.

After so many modern AAA games that drag on forever, this felt like a breath of fresh air. It’s short, fun, and straight to the point with no unnecessary filler. The platforming sections are especially great. Instead of constantly holding your hand, the developers clearly trusted that players actually have a brain. It’s a refreshing reminder that good level design beats bloated playtime. And mind you. Back in the days this game was considered mid af.
