⭐ **10/10 — A Masterpiece From My Childhood** *Prince of Persia: Warrior Within* is more than just a game to me. It is a piece of my childhood, a game that left a permanent mark on me and one of the titles I will never forget. I remember playing this game when I was younger and being completely fascinated by its atmosphere, combat, music, environments, story, and especially the feeling of constantly being hunted by the Dahaka. The dark atmosphere of Warrior Within was something truly unique. It felt mysterious, dangerous, and unforgettable. The combat system was absolutely incredible for its time. The ability to use different weapons, steal weapons from enemies, perform combos, throw enemies around, and interact with the environment made every fight feel exciting. Even today, there are moments where I think, *“How did a game from that era manage to do this so well?”* And then there is the soundtrack. The music of Warrior Within is one of the biggest reasons this game still lives in my memory. The combination of heavy rock, atmospheric sounds, and the dark world of the game created an identity that was completely different from other games of its generation. Some tracks instantly take me back to my childhood. The Island of Time, the Dahaka, the puzzles, the time powers, the alternate timelines, the secret areas, the transformation of the Prince, and the overall journey created an experience that felt special. Yes, the game has flaws. Some mechanics and design choices have aged, the camera can sometimes be frustrating, and certain sections could definitely benefit from modern improvements. But those flaws don't erase what makes this game special. ### Ubisoft, please bring this game back. I would genuinely love to see **Prince of Persia: Warrior Within receive a proper modern rework/remake**. Not simply a graphical upgrade. Keep the identity, atmosphere, soundtrack, darkness, combat style, characters, story, and the feeling that made Warrior Within so memorable — but rebuild the technical side for modern hardware. Imagine: • Modernized combat while preserving the original brutality and combo system • Improved animations and enemy AI • Completely rebuilt environments with modern graphics • Better parkour and movement • Improved camera controls • Modern lighting and atmospheric effects • Expanded character animations and facial expressions • Higher-quality cinematics • Improved Dahaka encounters • Reworked boss fights • Modern controller and keyboard support • Ultrawide and high-refresh-rate support • Optional original soundtrack and modernized soundtrack • A faithful recreation of the Island of Time with additional details and secrets Most importantly, **please don't remove the soul of Warrior Within.** There is something about this game that modern games sometimes struggle to recreate. It had an identity. It wasn't afraid to be dark, aggressive, strange, and different. For me, *Prince of Persia: Warrior Within* isn't simply an old game that I remember playing. **It is one of the games that shaped my childhood.** I can still remember the feeling of starting the game, hearing the music, exploring the Island of Time, running from the Dahaka, discovering new abilities, and wondering what would happen next. Years later, I can still return to it and enjoy it. That says everything. Ubisoft, if you ever decide to revisit *Warrior Within*, please understand that there are people like me who don't just want a new Prince of Persia game. **We want to return to the game that meant something to us.** Give Warrior Within the rework it deserves. Preserve its identity. Preserve its atmosphere. Preserve its music. Preserve its darkness. Preserve the Prince. Just make it playable for a new generation. **10/10. Forever one of my childhood games. ❤️** **Ubisoft, please bring Prince of Persia: Warrior Within back.**

First of all, make sure to grab the 'Fix Compilation' on ModDB. It, well, fixes everything, gives you widescreen, 4k res, controller support and so on. Without this you might as well give up playing this PC version, as it crashes all the time. With the fix I had zero crashes from start to finish. What a seriously awesome and cool game, and it has aged incredibly well too. Not to mention, playing it these days you can see how insanely influential it was. I sometimes see people saying the transition to Edgelord of Persia wasn't well received back in the day, but that's not how I remember it, at all. In my experience, the vast majority of people used to love this game. Whatever the case, the super badass style and atmosphere here feels and looks amazing today. This is a game that bites really hard. The Prince's controls and moveset are as fun as ever, quite better than in Sands of Time (you get a handful of new tricks up your sleeve). Moving in these games is a delight. The big parkour set pieces are just amazing here. The 'obstacle corridors' though... not so much. They get repetitive pretty fast. This game sure loves its obstacle corridors, and it repeats the same traps and spinny-pointy things aaaaaall the time (they're still fun to overcome though). The combat has been substantially improved in this game, even though it suffers almost as much as SoT when it comes to enemy variety, but this aspect did get improved as well. The story gets pretty nonsensical and absurd quite often in this game, but this is a "let's fix the timeline" sort of plot so you already knew that, right? Still, I got lost on the Prince's reasoning a few times here. Like "dude... are you sure this is the right idea? There's no way you really think this is gonna work, right?", very frequently even. Speaking of which, it's pretty funny how pissed off and impatient the Prince is throughout the entire game. It gets especially hilarious when he spouts stuff like "I have no time for this!" during major battle segments, even during the most decisive boss fights. What do you mean you have no time for this, what else would you be doing right now instead of this? As for the sound department... this is where things start to get weird. For a game that prides itself as having an amazing soundtrack (which it definitely does, don't get me wrong), Warrior Within has some straaaange sound mixing segments and things without any related sound effect whatsoever - there are whole segments, in fact, where the game is strangely... quiet. The mechanical tower level is particularly guilty of this. It's as if they gave up on adding sounds to a LOT of things - contraptions moving, doors exploding, monsters showing up, big things moving around... I was afraid this was a PC version thing (even with the aforementioned Fix Compilation applied), but nope: I checked the Gamecube version longplay on Youtube and it's just the same. That is undeniably quite a bummer, you simply lose a ton of atmosphere with an issue like this. It's hard to pinpoint what it is specifically, but there's something really really strange about some of Warrior Within's level design, too. Strangely enough, there's quite a lot of backtracking in this game, most of which feels like it shouldn't be there. On top of that, as if "lots of backtracking" wasn't annoying enough for this kind of game, some locations are also very confusing to navigate, and that's coming from someone with an actual really good sense of direction and spatial awareness, so I'm putting the blame on the game here. The final 20% or so of the game is full of it, and it gets kinda annoying. This is definitely a game that overstays its welcome and is probably 1 hour or so longer than it should've been. Not a big sin, to be sure, but still... So, is this better than the first game? Hard to say. My feeling is that, when WW is good, it's better than Sands. But when it's bad, it's much worse than Sands. If you want a more balanced and (much) more polished experience, Sands is the obvious winner here. But Warrior Within has its own strengths and is a really charming game. If it wasn't for the final stretch of the game I'd put it above Sands of Time. Possibly. I don't know. Time only knows.

Definitely one of my favorites Prince of Persia Games. 100% Recommend it. the only gripe i see many people complain about this game apart of the darker atmosphere, is that is really easy to get lost. and while i agree with the whole (getting lost thing) i still think this is the peak of the series. That being said... this game is very old and the pc port wasn't the best, soo for the best experience i recommend you download the [url=https://www.moddb.com/games/prince-of-persia-warrior-within/downloads/warrior-within-fix-compilation] Warrior Within Compilation fix . Includes a new launcher, widescreen patch, full controller support and EAX audio restoration through DSOAL.
