It's basically a business side-story from the Yakuza series turned into a whole game. It's super funny, relaxing, easy to play and to get into, it has a banger OST, cool artstyle, compelling characters and well written dialogue. Total no brainer if the vibe you get from the trailers seems appealing to you.

The perfect distraction in your most vulnerable emotional state. I had to put down my dog of 11 years yesterday and I got home with tears on my face and continued my playthrough of Promise Mascot Agency. The gameplay is simple. But that’s what I needed. I played for 8 hours straight. There was no downtime to think. It was simply see symbol on map and go to symbol on map. That’s it. It is not complicated. There’s the theme of running your agency and sending your mascots out for tasks but it’s still a simple mechanic. It doesn’t require you to think. It is a silly and weird game with moments that make you chuckle at the nonsense of it all, but that’s what I needed in that moment. If you are looking for a nice, casual game. An open world distraction kind of game. A game to get lost in and just enjoy for hours at a time. Then play Promise Mascot Agency. Thank you Kaizen Game Works. It’s just what I needed at the right time. 10/10

They got the Japanese Kiryu voice actor. He's nowhere in the marketing. He should be everywhere in the marketing. I took a look at this game when it got previewed a year ago and thought it looked like a built out Yakuza business sub-story. It is exactly that and it's very good so far. Update: Just about finished with it, I think. Review holds. Very good Yakuza sub-story. The plot surprised me. No spoilers, but it stays lighthearted and surprisingly twisty/turn-y throughout.

I got this game because I assumed it is some quickly put together shitpost for a quick laugh. What I did not expect is a high quality game made with care and love, weird humour and a feeling of odd nostalgia of something I never experienced before. The characters are likeable, the art and design are peak and the story is spot on, balancing humour and actual seriousness to it (of course the voice acting is top tier as well) - for mechanics the exploration is great, the management is easy and generally you are just out there to have fun. You start the game with "wtf am I watching" and progress into "Oh yeah I just rocket launch my pinky finger mascot as air strike to clean trash off the streets" It grew on me a lot and I am ever so happy I gave this game the chance it deserved, I highly recommend it!

Ever heard of "anemoia"? It's more or less nostalgia for a time and place you've never personally experienced. This game right here? Pure anemoia. The atmosphere is almost hauntingly nostalgic, dripping with a passionate, clear vision that is uncommon in gaming these days. Promise Mascot Agency is the kind of game that I don't think I'll ever see again, nor one that I could've ever predicted coming into creation. It's the kind of world that I hope to experience and immerse myself in when I find these games, these hole-in-the-wall surprises akin to the best food you've eaten that few others will probably ever get to indulge in. Screw another battlepass, another season, another daily login. If you want an actual *GAME* then support these devs here, fasten the seatbelt of your kei truck (unless you're as indestructible as Pinky☆), and let yourself be fully taken in by this wonderfully surreal, bizarre town of Kaso-Machi and its mascots. And if that's not enough for you? Kiryu's the MC, both in voice and soul!
