I wish I could give this a neutral review. I don't dislike the game but I also am not in love with the game. It is short and took me about a half hour to complete. The entire game relies on you hitting triggers spots to advance the game. If you find them quicker then I did you can probably complete the game in 20 minutes. I didn't like how you walk around so slow and there was no sprint or quick walk button but in hind sight if that had been a feature the game would be like 15-20 minutes long. For the price of $4 it cant get too much cheaper but I would have felt better if I only paid $2 because I feel that is what it is worth. The atmosphere is good and it has some good jump scares that use sudden movement and noises and things popping out at you to achieve them. I am not sure what kind of story the game was trying to tell either. In all if you can get the game half off for $2 grab it and enjoy 25 minutes of something that's a bit different. Psalm 5:9-13 is a slow-burn indie horror game that leans more on atmosphere and subtle dread than loud jumpscares. With only basic controls—walk and use your camera—you're dropped into a quiet, unsettling house with no clear objective, just the creeping feeling that something is off. Each room functions as a kind of environmental puzzle. You're not solving riddles or inputting codes—you’re searching for what doesn’t belong, using your camera to identify anomalies. It requires patience and a careful eye, and the game trusts you to figure that out on your own. The horror here is psychological and atmospheric. The sound design is excellent—tense silence, distant noises, and just enough wrongness in the visuals to keep your nerves on edge. There's gore, but it’s not excessive; more awkward and disturbing than grotesque. When a jumpscare does hit, it lands harder because of the quiet that came before. There’s very little in the way of traditional story. You’re in the house, you move forward by spotting anomalies, and at the end, you see yourself in a mirror. It leaves you with a sense of unease rather than resolution, which feels intentional. One detail I really appreciated was the main menu—designed as an interactive part of the house itself. The Play, Settings, and Exit buttons are integrated into the room, which is a clever and immersive touch. Psalm 5:9-13 isn’t for everyone. If you want action, complex mechanics, or a clear narrative, this isn’t it. But if you enjoy minimalistic horror that rewards observation and builds tension through mood and sound, this is a solid short experience worth your time. —The Ember Archives https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45601239/

Small indy horror game where you slowly walk from room to room and sort of discover who or what you are. Didn't really get the story, if there was one. Guess it's open to interpretation. The dark atmosphere in combination with VHS effects works very good. The goal is to find everything that's not supposed to be in each room by zooming in on these occurrences. Thing is, there's a lot that didn't feel right. Not sure if some of all of that was actually real or if my mind was making things up in real life. The shadows are really creepy in this one and I was very uncomfortable about halfway through. It only got worse from there on (in a good way). There's a few good jump scares and one that really got me. Looks like my mouse survived the crash. Environmental sounds are also very creepy. The footsteps, the knocking. A bit loud on some of the scares though. Playtime less than an hour. Slow but tense.

This game is short, relentless, and completely unhinged in the best way. Psalm 5:9-13 doesn’t waste time building dread — it slams it into your skull with brutal sound stings, sudden flickering figures, and a creeping sense that the environment is warping around you. It's one of those horror games that physically taxes your body — your shoulders stay tense the whole time, and the jumpscares hit hard enough to hurt. Thematically, the game hints at trauma, madness, and possibly religious guilt, but there’s no narrative hand-holding. It’s more of a fever dream than a structured story — and that’s part of the charm, if you're into ambiguous, interpretive horror. It's a 30-minute scream-fest that understands horror is more about unease than gore. It's cheap, short, but polished in all the right places. It’s not trying to be deep or complex — it wants to make you jump, sweat, and maybe sleep with a light on. Mission accomplished.
