It's fun... in the vein of Diablo but less time commitment to enjoy. Developers are actively engaged and each release improves the overall experience. I wouldn't say there's anything *new* here, just elements of other games put together in a fun, accessible way. It's worth your money.
Similar to Ravenswatch. Nice visuals, challenging gameplay. Rooms are a bit too short, impacting the rythm. Rooms lack variety design-wise. For an Early Access, it's up to a very decent start! EDIT: after few more hours, the game feels similar to Ravenswatch in the sense that you control your characters the same way (ZQSD), you have to dodge telegraphed abilities, enemies hit hard and you gain power randomly as you progress. It starts to diverge mainly because at the moment it seems the goal is to gain power faster than the difficulty is increasing. If you succeed, you basically oneshot enemies or spam brainlessly, until it gets boring and you quit (the game doesn't have a predefined length, you can continue as long as you want, with difficulty supposed to increase drastically but so far you can beat the curve easily). Definitely fun, but it's too easy to get overpowered, it's confusing to have hard-hit telegraph attacks but lots of visual cluttering the screen, and gear management is breaking the pace. Also, you don't lose much upon death so risk is low, and meta progression is too fast. My recommendation is to wait a little before purchasing just to see how the devs will decided to solve the current issues with the main design. But if you want to buy it now, it will still offer few hours of fun
With the last update the game fells much better, the champion talents give varied gameplay. I compare this game with Ravenswatch gameplaywise and i love it. The loot system paired with the dificcult settings is a great touch, great early access with the last update, keep going devs!!
Massive disclaimer: right this second, I wouldn't recommend this game for two reasons: 1. You pretty much can't play multiplayer at all even though it's a co-op. 2. BIGGER issue is that the game can sometimes just straight up forget an entire session (i'm assuming this is related to multiplayer). I played for like 3 hours yesterday, and when i logged in today, i lost a legendary and a handful of purples (one of which gave an increased chance of better loot :,( ). Ultimately though, this game is really fun and once the issues are fixed, it'll be great. For now though, if you plan on playing, strictly stick to solos. don't try to host a game yourself for multiplayer. nobody will join and none of the loot will save.
Coop is not working and the negatives reviews due to this are justified since it is advertised as such, but people complaining about bugs on a day1 early access game review are being silly Some reviews comparing it to Shape of Dreams. Have we forgotten what an early access release is supposed to be? Not fair to put it against a full release The game has massively improved in just a few months. If you want a polished 1.0 release be patient and wait for it. If you buy in a developing product set your expectations accordingly. In my opinion this is the best looting roguelike so far, the potential is massive and the devs seem very committed Let's hope they keep going
