A very good bullet hell roguelike, more focused on build cohesion than risk assessment or fine movement. There are a lot of build options and types of weapons with intricate layers of synergies you can work on. A wide variety of legendary items can drastically change what you want to build and how. There is almost no criticism for build variety and from the start of the run to the end you are still waiting to find the perfect synergy piece. My biggest criticisms are that the scaling is lopsided. In almost every run the midgame is the hardest as the enemies do a lot of damage and even though your damage has kept up your ability to tank probably hasn't so that every fight is very focused around dodging. When you get past the middle of the run your damage starts to outscale the enemy so bad their attacks don't happen. The final boss is generally one shot without being able to attack once. This is exponentially reinforced with how the modifiers on Reality difficulty work. Most downsides are that you take more damage while the upsides can synergize with one or more builds.

Not sure if I had a miraculous run or not.. but I completed my first dive on my 2nd or 3rd attempt and it felt unreal.. Went from just the starting character, to unlocking every character on my way through to the end in this single run. Every boss apart from the first felt challenging , Music was fantastic, the combat felt really nice. Not sure how the game changes with different characters but there's a bunch of different guns to obtain with mix and matching gun barrels that you'll pick up throughout the dive to spice up your gun's skills and effects. The relic system makes you feel very powerful once you start getting complementary ones. The Card system is incredible, i think every roguelike should have a card system to spice up the gameplay and this one makes a major impact. To end it off, i feel like i thoroughly experienced the effort the developers put into this game in a single run. It's a welcoming sight when the starting point changed from just having my one character sitting by a campfire, to finishing the credits 2 hours later and being welcomed to presumably every playable character in the game surrounded by the campfire. An achievement hinted at the completion on 'normal difficulty' so i'll have to check out the harder difficulty in future dives.

This is the one I was waiting for. Absolutely incredible! The combat is very responsive, the characters are are very diverse and fun, the amount of disgustingly overpowered combos you can build towards is scratches that loot goblin itch that most roguelikes don't scratch, and something else... I froze at the 2nd to last boss. I let it sit for about 20 minutes and then force closed the game. I reopened and it dropped me in right at the boss room. This, this is good game design. I love you guys/girls. GG!
