straight up shaking my Rat RN. I saw 10 seconds of the trailer and the screenshots, didnt read a single review or content description. And it made my experience that much better. So, if you like games with twists, I would recommend just buying this (cheap) game and seeing it for yourself. I genuinely went into this with the thought "its just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ratshaking game where you shake the rat and go about your day. haha". So, to my surprise, this game took an aggressive turn within 5 minutes of me starting it up. Going from a simple rat shaking game to a dark and gory story about abuse, murder and ratshaking. Overall, I very much enjoyed the game. The visuals of the rat are funny and shaking the rat never got old visually). The audio, and visuals blend nicely together to slowly but surely make it seem like you are having a slow mental breakdown. And the atmosphere really made this feel more unhinged and graphic. It was really good. I very much enjoyed shaking the rat, it was funny as ♥♥♥♥. Some downsides, shaking the rat is used for these specific meat doors which kinda suck to open with them and kinda feel unnecessary for it to work like that? Shaking for those doors specifically got old FAST. And this game has perfect atmosphere, however they ♥♥♥♥ it up by adding these super cheap jumpscares in. Like, pop in and out again dead bodies in your face. For a game with the atmosphere of this game, this sucks and feels really cheap, like they thought what they had made wasnt good enough. I wish they used the censoring more too, as it makes the brain run wild with that could be behind that blurry mess. Final slight annoyance. Every oven blowing up was kinda funny, but some spawnpoints were so far back it sucked to die to them. Its important to note that these criticisms arent actually ruining the experience, but could be some points of improvement on the devs part. Overall, I very much recommend this game for anyone who likes the sudden twist in a game! Get it, regardless of price!
A surreal, quick and simple linear horror game with some rich lore that leaves you second guessing the fact that you bought a game to shake and squeeze a rat and it led you down a chaotic spiral of insanity in a farmhouse out in the country. Overall, the story is easy to understand and is pretty clear in the metaphoric riddles it gives you to piece the story together. This story also allows room for conspiracy theories, which I feel could be good to continue the rat shaker saga. Highly recommend this Indie title. However, I must say I enjoyed the game far more post its update since the game changed some of the scenery and means of reaching the end. It took away from some of the more disturbing tones by making it more like an adventure rather than the end being in a room in the basement it was more like a church and a temple shrine. It didn't feel as impactful compared to how it was originally. Sure its more developed and interesting, but I personally think the simplicity of the original ending was darker and drew the games message across.
