Nice fanservice for anyone who's consumed the Lodoss novels/OVA/TV show. Deedlit gets trapped in a labyrinth of her own making and has to face some foes and friends from her past. It's an interesting standalone tale that gets into the whole "elves live for a very long time" trope. Graphically the game is beautiful and very reminiscent of Symphony of the Night. Level design-wise, the labyrinth is decent but not quite as engaging as any of the Igavanias. There are some cool mechanics, like bow aiming puzzles and wind + fire elemental swapping, that keep things interesting, but overall there's nothing too revolutionary at play, and the game feels a bit like a fan project that came out really well. Which isn't a bad thing! I can't see anyone unfamiliar with Lodoss liking this, but it's great for those of us who enjoyed Parn & Deedlit's love story and still occasionally watch YouTube videos of Adesso e Fortuna.

This game is 100% shout out to SOTN in terms of game play. Fantastic metroidvania. Tight control. Good music. All the bells and whistles that comes with it. The stun effect can get annoying at times but it's not too bad. Bosses are challenging with the wind/fire abilities. It's a neat feature that shows you how to absorb elements with a good amount of tactics applied to it. Be warned if you have not watched the anime to this. Apparently, there was an anime that came out first prior to the game. If story isn't your forte (it's a metroidvania we play it for the game play, the story is just desserts), then is a fantastic game alone to play. I'll certainly check out the anime so I can have a deeper appreciation of the story itself. 9/10

Really great castlevania-like metroidvania, enjoyed it to the fullest, but it's short(i did 100% in 10~ hours), has fun mini-game with shooting+boss rush bosses are interesting and have mechanics other than "spam it till it dies"(but in the end you'll do that due over-leveling) story is okay music is gorgeous. overall pretty fun experience for metroidvania. This game is the definition of tight, it doesn't waste your time and it doesn't overstay its welcome. There's no goofing around with gear, it's fairly linear, just a few different classes of sword, some basic spells, and a medium-small map. There are like 3 wall thumps that I found and none of them had "necessary" gear. The controls are a little clunky but they're sufficient, and the Ikaruga-style polarity switches with your two elemental familiars makes for some pretty fun wrinkles. It's not deep, it's just well executed. The art is fantastic, the music is sufficient, the bosses are varied and fun. It pays just enough homage to the source material and if you didn't see Record of Lodoss, it's still a great game.
