He Yueying is Waifu. The game is extremely well translated and extremely high production quality, I can see why this game is extremely popular in China. While the theme of the game can put you in a fairly adversarial relationship with most of the love interests, you can still get decent romantic endings with them by the end. It also has an interesting feature where it breaks down when you make correct choices, the psychology behind why they are the correct choice. Overall I would highly recommend it.
Marvelous simply Marvelous. This is unironically, one of the best FMV Games I've ever played and easily in one league with the original love is all around. Great Acting from all Actors, the Writing is good, it has Humor, it's Emotional, it get sometimes relatively dark. Decent Production Values overall. For an FMV Game there is a lot of Content in there which is a good thing. And the English Translation is unironically good, which is rare for FMV Games. Most of the time it's just an Machine Translation where the best you can say is "well atleast its functional" It's overall a great package, without the Jank of FMV Games like Tech Issues, Awful Machine Translations, Runtimes that are sometimes way too short for the Storys they want to tell, and game mechanics that add nothing but wasted time to your experience. I highly recommend it, especially for 8 bucks you make absolutely nothing wrong. I really hope the Dev Team will make another game at some point in future, im looking forward to it. :D Ah and for the one Person reading this, it works flawlessly on the Steam Deck, there are no Tech Shenanigans. :D
[Edit] English subs are available.... Highly Recommended EXCELLENT cinematography..Shot like a movie but with interactive choices. All actors and actresses perform great. It has a mature theme. There is a music playlist within the game. A unique feature of the game is a section where it explains the choices and also teaches the techniques of the gold diggers. It also teaches the user to build his/her own confidence. Obviously, this primarily targets the love-scams. Reviews are mixed because of the end results of these gold-diggers but I wholeheartedly enjoy the game. More future games should have this kind of movie cinematography and acting standards. Overall, a 4/5 game....
And love will set them free. Revenge on Gold Diggers is an engaging romance FMV that flips the script on dating sims. You play as a man who must recover the life savings of men who were tricked by women, by gaining the trust of powerful gold diggers. The game has amazing conversations, brilliant characters, and three awesome enemies-to-lovers romances. Some abrupt endings, ADR, and other issues prevent it from being the best this year. In the first chapter you become a simp, literally. You play as Wu Yulun and meet a young woman streamer, Chen Xinxin, who needs donations. Despite Yulun’s financial struggles, he hands over big money and she vanishes. This forced acquiescence is annoying, but refusing will end the game, so consider it the price of admission. The game leaps forward 10 years and you meet her again, only now you must fall in love. This part also needed work, as tweaks to some fail endings would have let the story progress without interruption. Chapter 4-7 is where the game becomes truly great. You must infiltrate an organization of women that have turned gold digging into a science. All you have to do is get close to three senior members. How? Fight fire with fire and seduce them. Maybe they will love you. Maybe you will love them back. Remember, they hate you for what you have done to their brethren. The three gold diggers have amazing personalities, with apt strengths and weaknesses. Song Shiqi pushes a gender divide on social media but secretly yearns for love. He Yueying is a femme fatale who uses her sex appeal (and torture) to gain power, but for what purpose? And the last, Pan Mengna, is the toughest nut to crack as her business acumen taught her to hold her cards close. Getting to know each woman and adjusting to their personalities is amazing. The conversations are riveting because every choice feels important. There are even traps, if you fall for their charms. The goal is to make them love you. So, not that different from a regular dating sim, albeit starting from a position of hate. But dealing with unscrupulous individuals makes all the difference. Are you gaining their trust to scam them or is there something more? It is satisfying to use real love against money and power. You get to see the characters transform, from cold bodies into warm hearts, like when Yueying goes from making you kiss her feet to collapsing at your own. Unfortunately the endings are cruelly abrupt, not befitting of the rest. There are also duplicate finales that cannot be skipped. The game takes about 6 hours to finish and about 11 to see everything. The English translation is exceptional but sadly it uses average ADR for voices. Video quality is underwhelming and even poor in a few scenes. However, if you like enemies-to-lovers arcs and meaningful conversations then Revenge on Gold Diggers will make you a simp, one way or another.
I am so happy that the developers decided to tackle the issue of emotional fraud in China, but gold diggers are not exclusive to China only - they're found everywhere. Hats off to the women in the game for being selfless and helping expose vile gold diggers' tactics for normal men. The game has multiple possible endings, complex plotline and perfect subtitles. I hope they make a sequel.
