It's a good game, but it leaves a lot to be desired. First of all, If You're not planning on getting the patch, You'll miss on a huge portion of a game. And I cannot recommend this game for You. The full version of this game is in the patch, and the unpatched is almost indistinguishable from a demo. Second, If You're here for the Hentai tag, be prepared for a lot less than You think. Clothes are almost never taken fully off (except for "lose" screen and under very specific circumstances) and if they do they still leave a lot to be desired. For the roguelite elements, there are almost no differences with "builds" between runs. And in the end of the runs, You'll finish with almost the same stuff. (depending on Your RNG it can take a while though) If You're struggling with stages try getting: 3-5 levels of "EXP Gain Up" with 1-2 levels of "Masochist Awakening", Fully leveled up "Electric Shock", and "Sensory Block". And You should be good. If You're planning on buying this game wait for discount. And I hope You'll enjoy Your time playing this game.
I'm surprised that some people still complain about adult patches. If you were born yesterday, adult content is getting attacked by different activists and then blocked by payment processors. Patch is one of ways to combat this. About the adult version- yes, gameplay lack action. It is endless foreplay and a bit of action is only in defeat scenes, which, I agree, is boring. Do not buy this, if you're looking for action in gameplay or you dislike the rogue-lite part. Anyway, I like the setting and rogue-lite card stacking, so I'm upvoting this to encourage the dev to keep selling at Steam, too. The grind- lol, just stack "mass arrest" and you can quickly wipe whole train in 1 turn. If you feel super unlucky, invest in extra health. The game is not hard, if you stack the cards right.
Proof that you can make a fun roguelite experience out of literally anything. I would recommend it, with caveats 1) There isn't really a whole lot of build diversity. For the most part what you see in the upgrade menu is what you get 2) It's not clear how stripped down you can get in the various costumes unless you go into free mode and see what's available. I spent way too long trying to have a good time only to find out later it was impossible to go further with that outfit 3) The statuses that could inflict you were mostly a let-down. I was hoping for a bit more from the corruption/hypnosis mechanics Still had a good time with it. Good visuals, fun concept. It's about a couple of evenings' worth of entertainment if the price is worth that to you.
Overall, I think this game is good and worth the money but I wish it was better. I like corruption-themed H-games where it feels like you don't have to intentionally put yourself in trouble to see the good parts and RUTO mostly achieves that. I just wish there was more of... everything? A lack of content makes all of your runs feel the same, which isn't great for a rogue-like. First and foremost, there needs to be more events. When you arrive at a stop, an event happens and it's not uncommon for the same event to happen 3 or more times in a run, sometimes even back to back! Many of the events are just: you talked with someone about nothing, here's some EXP! That's so boring! It would also be cool if the different outfits represented different sets of skills rather than just minor buffs and different art. There are 10(?) different skills you can level up that combine into new skills once they're maxed out. I think it would go a long way if each outfit had different skills to work with but I realize that's probably asking a lot.
