So silly to post negative reviews "abandoned game". It's a "finished game" you dumdums. And a pretty good one for the price. I got wayyyy addicted to it until I beat the game on non-completely-ridiculous difficulty.

played about 200 hours. Love the game, really wish they would add more depth to this wonderful and amazing tower defense game. Other developers should start here and build on this concept. THIS is the foundation to a FANTASTIC time crunching TD!

I have played a LOT of Rogue Tower, and I am conflicted. The concept is great, I like the graphical style, and I think the progression system is pretty good. Basically, the game is a lot of fun until you have unlocked everything and face the "end game". I feel like the end game lets the player down. The difficulty suddenly ramps up VERY quickly, and you go from fairly challenging to impossible in one or two rounds. I still recommend Rogue Tower, but it could be a lot more fun if the late game was better balanced.

TLDR: The core concept of the game is great, but the game is lacking in some core quality of life features. I recommend this game if it is on sale. In each run in this roguelite experience, you begin with a single tile you must defend. You expand your board with randomly generated tiles and build defenses against newly spawning enemies. Every few rounds you unlock new upgrades or towers, and you unlock more of these as you spend experience points after each run attempt. A lot of the fun is adapting your strategy to the randomness in pathing and unlocked towers. However, missing quality of life features (QoL) taint the experience and makes the game feel incomplete. Notable features: Copy and paste of tower priority targeting settings. Missing QoL features: No cloud saves. Lack of window-mode/resolution options. No "reset upgrades" option. (The "reset" option in upgrade menu resets all progress). No way to exit the game without ending your run.

This is a great concept, with very cute graphics, and I definitely got my money's worth in 50+ hours of play. Sadly, the game has been abandoned, which is sad because with a few more updates it could have been even better. I am still giving it a thumbs up, it was a fun ride while it lasted.
