During the last winter sale I decided to buy three of Etirue's games, having just discovered the developer: Dark Siren, Crawling Lab and this one. All three are enjoyable journeys in their own way, but as it turns out I'm less positive on this game than I expected to be. It's worth pointing out that all of these games are... fairly primitive? I'm not sure if this is a fair way to describe them and I don't mean to throw sh*t at the developer, I think they are doing a good job and on their way to proficiency... but the emphasis is in "on their way". There is a definite feel that these are "amateur" games. Having said that: Ruined Nurse is definitely the most "polished" of the three, but I don't think it's to its benefit. Would be difficult to dispute that the sex appeal of the character models is part of the selling point here, and why many people might wish to check the game out. Nothing against that, on the contrary: that is what I expected. Which is why it's sort of... bizarre... that you spend a good chunk of the game roaming empty hallways and reading notes in default font with more or less "riddles" for more or less "puzzles". Then a good third of the game is played with a sidekick that constantly complains that you move too fast in a game where the running speed is quite honestly miserably slow for how big the environment can be and how spread out things are... There are a lot of bewildering choices in the design of this game. However, this is definitely the most "complete game" out of the three that I got. It has got some level of character development, a plot being sequentially told through cutscenes. But it's the one I enjoyed playing the least, as it was the one that wasted my time the most. There are things to like. I adored the absurd and on-the-nose script about customer service, it's super camp and never ceases to be amusing in a sort of adorkable way. The gunplay is solid, the weapons all feel good to use. I like some of the secrets with the pacifist nurses and some other oddities that show up in the hospital. I like that there are some mechanics regarding light and sound. I liked when one of the enemies decides to stalk you around as you have to turn a bunch of switches on, it was surprisingly tense. It's a perfectly fine and functional game, it just underplays its assets... for some reason, and either way... it just ends up being just a... boring game to play. I can still recommend it on the basis that it is a fairly inexpensive game from a solo developer who seems to be improving, but if you are after a fun game to actually play, I do think Crawling Lab is a lot more enjoyable in terms of gameplay.

It's aight. Game has basic puzzle and shooting. Be careful with your inventory when it's full because you can delete a key item and soft lock yourself.

At first this looked like a gooners wet dream. It still is, but the game-play is decent and the story is humorous There's a few bugs, the server room cut-scene doesn't play If you walk through a shutter as it closes, you basically soft-lock yourself Early game ammo is an issue even if you find all the obscure ammo places Which is funny, because by the end of the game you simply have too much. Keys are not easy to spot. You wouldn't believe how long it took me to find the one on the IV bag, it just blended in so well oddly. The objective menu could provide a little more information, sometimes I was just lost on what to do

Another eTIRUe hood classic. I was a bit mad at all the bugs and crashes I had encountered but if you're new to eTIRUe's games, know that they do have a tendency to release un-patched games and then slowly fix them overtime. First of all, Ruined Nurse is basically a mix of Abyss School (puzzle) and Crawling Lab (FPS). But largely improved on both parts. The game runs fine on most levels on my part, on some parts I lost frames for a bit but overall it's fine. Like said above the gameplay is a mix between two of their previous games. So if you like both AS and CL you'll like Ruined Nurse. Plus you get a companion for a bit. PS : Friendly tip, DO NOT play their games for a few days to at least a week or two after release if you want a bug free experience (and also if you want more content for your buck). I bough the game day 1 and I had to restart and load saves multiple times because of bugs throughout my playthrough. So yeah wait for a few patches before playing if you don't wanna bother. Overall 8/10, can't give it a 10 unfortunately because of the bugs and crashes plus maybe a few optimization issues, but i'm sure they'll fix them in the near future, they always do ;) And by then this game will be close to a 10/10 !
