Positive game but with a caution. It's a pretty good by cartoon network IP standards. It has some really cool moments, which are all dragged down by the really derpy combats bizarre hitboxes and animations at times. It's a decent spectacle fighter/hack n slash game, but to become great? It needed good hitboxes and animations which telegraph the attacks for you to be able to dodge them. It often gets this wrong especially on enemies like the leeches which are incredibly frustrating to fight how the game CLAIMS it wants you to. Add to that some occasional glitches, strange design choices and sound mixing that sounds like a PS2 game and a camera sometimes like one too (but you're on a ps4 game!) and it's a bunch of things that stops the game ascending beyond just having some cool cutscenes and a few other little cool moments where it replicates the vibes of the show well. Tips: For the sake of your sanity do NOT play above samurai difficulty on your first run, you're barely given the tools at the start to survive even the tutorial! Get used to idea of breaking weapons on purpose. In any other game that would be counter productive, but here? That's one of the fastest ways to get some upgrade points Oh and also DO NOT play it before watching all of the show.

Note: This game got delisted. So, ya either need to buy a key (like going to Game Stop or EBay), stalk people that do have this game, just to abuse the family share/friendlist or beg Warner Bros. to bring this game back. Not just for Steam, but for ALL platforms. It feels as if all the Adult Swim games survived WB's tax write off purge, except this one. 2nd Note: I'm not done exploring the rest of the game. I just unlock the missions mode. Controller Compatibility: XBox One, other controllers are unknown. I recommend using controllers rather than the keyboard, even though keyboard works just as well. Steam Deck: I dunno if this game works on the deck. Story: 'Battle Through Time' takes play in the last few episodes of the final season. But Aku did something again. Review: The game is GOATed and everything about it is beautiful like the last time I watched the cartoon (Like Greg Baldwin's voice acting, it feels as though Mako didn't leave). 'Battle Through Time' is one of those 'video game adaptions of non-video games' media that was adapted insanely well (like 'Ghostbusters: The Video Game'). Usually, these types of games are not well done or they're just mid (If I like it). 'SJ: BTT' is a relatively short game, it only has a 9 stages/chapters. My SIMP-ing for Jack was worth it. Achievement Hunter Notes: They're 'easy' to get, some are 'finishing the story' chapter achievements. While others need farming, akin to how one levels up Bayonetta. But the 'Masters Of Master' needs ya to be fully maxed out in the skills/abilities department (Something tells me that it's gonna be like the indie game 'Awaria', ya only need to play the 'hard' mode to unlock some of the most difficult achievements). Also, according to a guide, a few achievements are mildly buggy and ya have to restart the game. Completing the main story unlocks the missions modes.

You can't buy this game anymore on Steam as it's delisted. It's alot like Ninja Gaiden except with most weapons being breakable due to durability while having a different stats on variations of weapons under weapon types. Instead of Flip Throw, Izuna Drop, and Flying Swallow being the over powered options you have a Uppercut and Tornado Kick on the fist moveset alongide Perfect Parry and Perfect Dodge slowing time while also making enemies less likely to block or armor through your attacks. This game on the harder difficulties is genuinely difficult until you unlock enough moves on the skill list to actually deal with the threats the enemies present. Enemies will block you, command grab, and attack you while you are busy with another enemy. Luckly you have the tools to deal with this between parrying, blocking, moving block, dodging, and Invulnerability Frames on some of your attacks. My biggest issues with the game rise from me not wanting to use most of the weapons due to the Fists being stronger than anything I could pick up while also not breaking on me. Ranged weapons all require ammo and can break as well so using them is usually saved for dire situations. I wanted to review this after I beat the Hardest difficulty but seeing as you can't buy this game I might as well just put this review out there now.
