Fun game and the puzzles make it stand out a bit from others in the genre. No AI art or anything like that. I did experience a few bugs that were thankfully fixed by exiting the game. Sometimes bottles would merge together and get placed on the shelf, hiding a bottle or making an unfillable empty space on a shelf. My other gripe is that I must have accidentally hit the skill button...just once...during my playthrough locking me out of the achievement. I am honestly not a fan of these kinds of achievements, since I normally only play a game like this once and it makes unlocking any skills pointless for me. But thankfully, there were no speed run achievements, I hate those most of all, and all of the others were fun to work towards. The cats make it feel not as lonely as other organization games. It was nice having some other presence. I look forward to more games from this developer in the same vein.
Really nice organize and puzzle game! I think I will stick more to common organize games, since the puzzles are really repetetive in every shelve here. Great value, solid depth, and a satisfying grind for the right kind of player — held up well for its price and playtime. Playtime: 11 hrs (single run, 100% completion) Price: $4.85 → $0.44/hr = Great value VALUE — 9/10 $4.85 for 11 hours comes out to $0.44/hr, well under my $0.50/hr bar for "great value." This one earns it. DEPTH — 6/10 Okay amount of depth. The puzzles lean into the mundane side of searching and self-organization in a way that works. Upgrades were nice, but a late-game auto-sort powerup (for your hand or the shelf) would've been a great addition. FUN — 7/10 Genuinely fun. I went for 100% on my first run, which meant holding off on using powers — that made the ending feel grueling and repetitive. That said, the repetition is kind of the point of the game. Devs: a pacing pass on the late game, plus an auto-sort tool, would ease the tedium without changing the core loop. TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE — 8/10 Ran great — no bottle glitches or crashes, which I honestly expected going in. One small note: the purple and blue gradients used in the game are too close in shade and could use more contrast. WHO IT'S FOR This is for players who enjoy the grind of a sandbox game with a clear goal, set in one fixed room where the change comes from what YOU do, not the environment. Best for: fans of sandbox/organization games who like a steady, goal-driven grind. Skip if: you lose enjoyment from repetitive gameplay. OVERALL SCORE: 30/40 → 7.5/10
I enjoyed this game, liked the vibe, the cats, the puzzles... I do want to share two quick tips that I'm sure a lot of us figured out as the game progresses, but I don't think I remember being told about in-game. If the tips are there, I must have missed them. One of which I figured out by accident when I had literally 3 shelves left in the entire game and I got, quite honestly, really REALLY annoyed. First, if you use the collection spell (the one that pulls similar potions to your hand) then it will start with the first in the sequence and grab them sequentially. (e.g. if you have potion labeled 3 in your hand, use the spell, your hand would contain 3, 1, 2, 4, 5.) If you can find the first of a sequence, this can make some of the more difficult to remember sequences (flowers and moons for me) quite a bit easier to push past. Second (and this the one I figured out by accident, and makes the previous tip way less helpful/necessary), once you have figured out a puzzle you can press tab to show the correct sequence for the active potion in your hand across the bottom of the screen. It's much more legible/larger than the comprehensive sheet you can access by hitting esc. No need to keep opening and closing the reference sheet, squinting to count itty-bitty leaves on the flowers , and repeating that cycle. Finally, I would add that I have played about 8 of these types of games now, and this one is up there with Librarian (still my fave), and Shelves and Sorcery (maybe my second fave?). They all have a tipping point where there is no more leveling up and they become just a gathering game. I will throw out there that, while I admire the decisions to really pace the leveling, that tipping point comes a bit earlier in this game than I would like, and it felt like a loose end to only have the gather-like-potions spell grab cap out at 5 potions. I would have enjoyed seeing it go all the way up to 7, with perhaps increasing cost as the limit grows. This would also make it feel like I was still working toward something as I continued placing potions correctly. Overall, I really enjoyed it and will look for more from this dev in the future.
