If you liked the first one, then approach this game as a very early tech demo. If you are on the fence, then wait. If you are new to Solasta wishlist it and wait. Demo goes to lvl 4. A bit of jank and bugs, but nothing too bad. Visuals and spell animations are greatly improved. If you treat this as true early access, as in- an early look into the behind the scenes of where the game is headed, then it is exciting to see changes and improvements. If you are looking for a complete resolved gaming experience then you will be disapointed.

Don't be fooled by the negative comments. The game is in early access with about 9 - 10 hours of gameplay. Does it have its issues? Yes and so did BG3 when it released in early access? The game is a huge improvement from the first installment, and the Devs are quick to listen to the community. The game has heart and is closer to the DND ruleset than any other games out there. Pros: - Great Story so far - Voice acting is great, Ben Starr, Amelia Tyler, Devora Wilde - Graphics are good -Open world map revamp is great Cons: - Minor glitches in cutscenes - Minor bugs with doors interaction

Coming into the franchise new (no prior experience with the first game) with only other cRPGs like BG3, PF KR, and PF WoTR. If you’ve finished BG3 and still want to scratch that itch, this is definitely a must have. Of course this is Early Access, so I went in with zero expectations given Larian’s massive budget. But first impressions: the game is surprisingly polished and very playable for an EA release. I spent about 12–13 hours finishing a playthrough, with only minor nitpicks overall. Kudos to the Solasta II team! Bugs I experienced (hope the devs see this): - If your weapon has a push mechanic, avoid using it as a reaction. It can sometimes perma-push enemies and lock the encounter, forcing a reload. - If teleport zones or containers stop working, switch party leaders or reload. - Sometimes even when standing right beside the target, melee attacks try to reposition first, exposing you to opportunity attacks. Might be uneven ground elevation, not sure. UI features still missing: - No mass item selection, so transferring or selling items has to be done one by one. - (Minor) Vendor category icons aren’t very clear when unavailable. Suggestion: grey them out instead of using the small white bar indicator. - No “valuables” category, which makes selling valuables a bit tedious since you have to filter through “All Items.” - No visual indicator for temporarily reduced max HP (like from necrotic damage or CON reduction). HP appears full even though the max pool is reduced. Maybe a greyed-out portion of the HP bar could show this. Things I love: - Looting & Containers: You can click character portraits to decide who receives the item instantly. Amazing QoL feature, especially for heavy looters like me. - Fully animated cutscenes even at this stage. I expected some “animation pending” moments like BG3 EA, but everything I saw was already animated. - Very stable for an EA launch. - Jebfa is such a qtpa2tie SAVE ME. One small nitpick: if possible, it would be nice to see other iterations of the Siklas design. I know it’s a big ask, but compared to the other monsters in the game they feel a bit cartoony and take me out of the immersion. Overall I’m really excited to see what the Solasta II devs do moving forward. Looking forward to the future of this game!

As a fan of Solasta I, I'm enjoying this so far. The graphics are a huge upgrade, and the world itself is beautifully rendered. On top of that, so far it has a more interesting story than Solasta I, and there's some high quality voice actors (cough, Ben Starr, cough), in the cast. One of the big draws of Solasta has always been the tactical combat, and I have no complaints there. They really try to stay faithful to DnD rules for every class's abilities. I will say that I played Solasta I in early access as well, from the very beginning, and it was a very janky game with only a few options for races/classes when it first came out. They continued to improve it over time, and I'm confident they will with this one as well. It's EARLY ACCESS. I've definitely experienced some jank, mostly with cut scene camera angles, but also occasionally with not being able to loot items. Oh, and the eye color of one of my characters changed. So, there are small bugs like that, but I have yet to encounter any game-breakers. Speaking of which, I don't really understand the character creator criticisms from some other reviews. I think people maybe got spoiled by BG3 and want all other games to have sexy characters. It is true. The characters here are not very sexy. But hey, if that's a huge factor for you in a tactical RPG, maybe you need to spend some time exploring the adult VN genre instead. That being said, I think there tends to be a trade off between "buying early access for a lower price and dealing with the jank", or waiting. If you want a perfect game, I'd recommend waiting until later to buy it, but I'm betting this will cost more on a full release. This is at least a AA quality game, IMO.

While I agree the character creator needs a lot of work - please let us create proper male characters - every character seems weirdly androgynous which kind of breaks immersion right from the outset. Buuuut, if you can get passed the character creation, the game itself is very enjoyable. The combat is fun, the story is good so far, the graphics and audio have been decent / better than I expected so far. It's not BG3 but it's a fun adventure so far. Will revise if they update the character creation but it would be sad if people missed this game due to the character creation.
