Hardest part about this game is finding friends autistic enough to play it with you.

I've played just a bit. This game has a hard learning curve. If you are new, go through all the tutorials, it'll help a ton, and look over the controls, as that'll help a lot as well. If you're looking for a reason to play the game, there is no other game where you can stretch your imagination like this. Build anything and everything, make it functional or silly or both. If you've hit a creative wall, start looking through blueprints on the workshop. I've put in almost 1500 hours on PC, and another 1200 on my xbox before. There simply is no limit, and I've happily given my money for every dlc knowing it'll only let me fine tune my creations that much more, all the while supporting clearly dedicated and caring developers. The game is great, the DLC is great, and the developers are great. 9/10, with the only mark against it being the learning curve.

This is a game for people who enjoy engineering creative solutions for it's own sake. There is almost endless possibility for the active mind. I didn't have the mental fortitude to make it that far on my initial playthrough, but I hope to one day build a a mobile space base in which smaller functional vessels can dock. A giant space whale containing everything from fighters to transports. I would name it Purrgil. I think of it as a game for all the kids that loved playing with Lego as kids.

I first placed this when it first released when some friends wanted to play it. I didn't have a good time, it was confusing, I didn't understand what was going on as there were already ships just handed to you, and quickly stopped playing. I think I lasted less then two hours and then moved this game to my "Bad Games" section of my library. This was my only experiencing with the game. Never watch anyone play it or anything like that. Skip to now, I had watched some people playing the game and it looked fun. I was understanding what they were doing. So I watched the first 15 minutes or so of a tutorial video for new players. It recommended playing a starting scenario, and then starting a sandbox on an Earth-like with lightning and other weather stuff turned Off. So that's what I did. Started out with the basics and went from there. Built systems from the ground up. Being able to step through each process helped me to understand things and enjoy it more. If I got stuck on how something worked, I'd google it quick. But for the most part I tried to figure things out on my own first. I'm now 134 hours in, made it to space, build a moon base for easier resources to build a capital ship with, and even made a massive drilling rover that is fully automated after you get it into position. Honestly, the hardest part of the game is focusing on one thing. I keep thinking up a new idea, a new ship, etc, and I just don't have enough time, or resources, to do it all, lol. I'm glad I gave the game another chance.
