Bottom line up front: This a great time to try Starmade as a first time user. I wish it had more attention right now since Schine and the community are grinding on this thing. THE GAME IS BACK IN DEVELOPMENT. Simply put, this is actually a really good game. It hits two main points that would attract sandbox folks to this game and that's very robust creativity and a well designed logic system. This game just has logic blocks that you tie together so even an entry level individual can enjoy the logic aspect of the game. This is opposed to Redstone from minecraft is cool BECAUSE it's unreasonable. Because of it's long status in early access a lot of old players will complain that the game is not complete yet, but I'll hit that topic in a moment. It has a lot of jank, as all voxel games do, and it has a steep learning curve to get to some of the really rewarding experiences, as most voxel games don't. Veteran players are burnt out, waiting for content and waiting for the game to leave early access. This will result in a lot of jaded reviews. I wish these negative reviews would spend more time to express their impression of the game the first time they loaded in. I wish they talked about finding youtube videos explaining the mechanics to try to build viable strip miners and combat vessels based on Star Trek and Eve Online. I wish they would attract new users to the game instead of trying to turn them away. We need NEW players trying this game. For it's price, it's worth 5, 10, 30, 100 hours of your time. I played solo a lot as a relaxation room and I played on several hosted servers. The community was great (except for one guy who I won't witch hunt, lol). It has less multiplayer specific features, outside of choosing to roleplay, than similar games but the basis is there. Starmade is an incredible idea that was actually fairly well executed early on. It didn't gain the same momentum that Minecraft did, and it more ways than one it is significantly deeper and more complex than the Minecraft as it was when this game hit Steam.

yes its launched a while back, but yes its good and i like it more that newer game because of its mechanic. You can make a Death Star .....lol. Just by adding more block to your weapon will increase your Beam power output damage, no other games do that. Same with Shield and Power. But i wish using Drones would be easier and more fined tuned.

So yeah, it's abandoned, but you can still make it worth the price in it's current state. Pretty much feature complete
