PERFORMANCE NOTE: go to the properties tab for this game in your steam library, and under launch options, TYPE "-dx12" this forces the game to run with dx12 and has fixed the stuttering issue for me ENTIRELY!! i can run this game with ray tracing and high graphics and it runs smooth as butter!!! i may edit this review later with more of my thoughts on the game, but before you refund it, PLEASE TRY THIS!! edit: for people asking about Koboh, stuttering is still non-existent, however the game does start to chug if i look out at the entire open world section. but my god that open section is huge and i'm playing on the highest graphics so, this is an issue present in every recent massive open world game

WARNING: Before You Buy Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Jedi: Survivor is a strong follow-up to Fallen Order, and in most ways, a better game. It expands on what worked before—combat, exploration, story—and gives players more freedom, more customization, and more to sink their time into. But like the first game, it’s not without its flaws. If you’re planning to jump in, here’s what you should know. The story picks up a few years after Fallen Order, with Cal Kestis continuing his fight against the Empire. Without spoiling anything, the narrative feels more mature, and while the stakes are higher, it still keeps a focus on Cal’s personal growth. It avoids leaning too heavily on existing Star Wars characters, which helps it feel like its own story. The worldbuilding is solid, and there’s a good balance between quiet character moments and large-scale set pieces. Combat is a clear highlight. There are now five lightsaber stances, including dual wield, crossguard, and a saber/blaster combo. This variety lets you adjust your playstyle depending on the fight. It still feels weighty and skill-based like Fallen Order, but it’s a bit smoother and more flexible. Boss fights and tougher enemies can be challenging, but never feel unfair. It rewards timing and patience without being overly punishing. Exploration is much more open this time. Planets like Koboh are massive and layered, with side areas, hidden upgrades, and plenty of optional content. You’ll unlock mounts and new traversal abilities that make getting around easier, and yes—fast travel is now a thing. You can move between unlocked meditation points, which helps reduce unnecessary backtracking, though you’ll still have to do a bit of it if you're hunting everything down. If you’re going for 100%, be aware that collectible hunting can feel repetitive. There’s a huge amount of cosmetic items, lore logs, and hidden upgrades. Some are fun to find, others feel like padding. The map is better than the first game’s, but it can still be unclear in vertical areas or tight spaces. Now the biggest issue: performance. Even after multiple patches, there are still bugs—occasional crashes, texture pop-ins, and frame rate dips. They’re not constant and don’t make the game unplayable, but they can interrupt the experience. If you’re someone who wants everything to run perfectly, these issues might get in the way, especially during more cinematic or intense moments. For most players, it won’t ruin the game—but it’s something to keep in mind. Enemy AI also varies. Some encounters feel smart and well-paced, while others are let down by odd behavior or enemies getting stuck. Side quests and bounty missions are a mixed bag—some are worthwhile, others feel like filler. Jedi: Survivor takes what Fallen Order started and pushes it further without losing what made the original great. It’s fun, cinematic, and packed with moments that feel genuinely memorable. It’s not perfect, but it doesn’t need to be to leave an impact. If you’re looking for a solid Star Wars game with strong gameplay and story, this is a good pick.

Disclaimer: This review is based on this game running basically flawlessly. I know there are performance issues, and that is a damn shame. For those with performance issues, I highly recommend researching mods that solve many of those issues. I also recommend forcing it to run in DirectX 12 - this solved my stuttering. I am so very glad I solved the performance issues of this game. It's not only one of the very best Star Wars games of all time, but it's also one of the most compelling Star Wars stories of all time, with some of the best Star Wars characters of all time, and definitely the best droid of all time. It's also an amazing refinement of the action adventure genre to the point that Miyazaki himself could learn a thing or two from it. The world is huge and stunningly beautiful, the characters are memorable, well-written, well-voiced, and engaging. The combat and skill system are refined and exciting. The traversal is smooth and fast. The puzzles (for the most part) are excellent and a vast improvement on the first game. What stunned me the most was the endgame experience. Instead of being a chore, a grind, or a mindless collectathon, I was compelled to find almost everything because of the way the side quests recontextualize areas you've already explored. They added new story elements, dialogue, enemies, and environmental changes. It took an already impressively huge and exciting world and milked way more enjoyment out of it than I thought possible. By the time the credits rolled, no zone was less than 95% explored, and at no point in that exploration did anything feel forced. It's the best Star Wars story I've experienced in a long time wrapped around a masterpiece of game design. Screw EA for the way they handled it. I can only hope the third installment is able to cut through EA's BS and continue to build on what was done here.

I recently purchased this game on special with the latest performance patch included. As a 50ish PC gamer who's first computer was a 286, games back then had to have a great story line and be engaging and run smoothly as graphics were non existent. Nowadays it's the exact Opposite ,where the emphasis is on great graphics with Mediocre Storyline and buggy game play which eventually gets fixed by the developer at a later date, which for me makes me wait a year or so instead of Purchasing on Release. This game for me as of late 2024, was very enjoyable. It had a Engaging Storyline. The Characters were emotional engaging to me, and the game was mostly smooth playing with only a couple of crashes. I have thoroughly enjoyed playing this game all the way to the end like I did with the First Star War Jedi game ,which I bought also when all the bugs and performance issues were ironed out. Great Story, Engaging Characters and Good graphics/ Bug free experience. If this had had come out like the game I just purchased on release, it would have gone down as a memorable AAA Title. Now all I can recommend it as, a Discounted Worthy buy for any Star Wars or Space game player and a worthy sequel to the Original game.
