Here is my review of Stormworks after playing it for almost a 1,000 hours. If you want to play this game alone with smaller vehicles, it's fantastic. 99% of the time, you can actually build anything you can think of because the sandbox building is so complex and deep. Unfortunately, though, the game isn't well optimized. It only uses one thread, despite having extremely complicated physics. The game is just too complicated for one thread to handle, which is a major issue. This is particularly noticeable when the game lags after you spawn something large. The same is true for multiplayer: the host's PC must calculate the physics for everyone, and the servers simply aren't quick enough to sync everything for everyone. Overall, Stormworks is an awesome game. You can get totally lost in building something huge because you always get new ideas. But it's hard to show your work to others because of the multiplayer lag, and if your build is too complex, you’re stuck playing in slow motion.

This game allows me to go crabbing on a boat. Every so often I see an AI take over an island. That is not my problem. Getting these crabs sucked into the funnel is my problem. This game is best enjoyed listening to good music and crabbing.
