Great game, used to play it everyday when i was younger. Brings me nostalgia. I do remember when I finished King's Arthur Story and saw the ending back then I got so sad I avoided people for 3 days.

This game lacks some content. And quality of life features. Also its buggy! Espicially the Map Editor which I had the most fun with... But the 3 factions and the campaign are so fricking awsome. The simple basebuilding and the focus on units makes the game more fast paste (But they could have added more defensive stuff). The campaign is incredible difficult but fun and the 3 factions add alot of variety and actual tactics. The Map/Mission Editor is really fun and simple. But buggy and misses some content. Its my personal fav Stronghold game but I get why many dont like it. Id still love to see a modern Legends II thats like this game just more and better. Instead of whatever the new games are supposed to be.

Yeah, I have no clue how to play this game competitively. I play singleplayer and play either on the Dragon Island or The Snake maps. I wall myself off and build a communist utopia where everyone gets double rations and alcohol while they pay extra cruel taxes. After like 100 in-game years I just spam trebuchets and horse-mounted knights until I win. 10/10, would kill 3 Lancelots again.

Basically, for stronghold fans - its just like stronghold 2, but lotsa new units and buildings. i really really really hate the game, so gosh darn imbalanced... When i attack, the enemy detects me within miles away from their walls but when i attack them, my troops just loiter around and swing their swords like farmers, gosh friggin darn!!! Specifically bats. i just sent like 6 of them and all they had was a few archers and at least 2 dargon harpoons and got them easily AND THEY WERE SHOOTING FROM VERY VERY FAR AWAY!!!... but when they send me their bats and i have a million troops on my walls as well as dragon harpoons - none of these land lubbers can aim for sheesh AND SOMETIMES DONT EVEN REGISTER THEM UNTIL THEYRE TOO CLOSE TO THEM!!! WHAT DA F(requently) A(sked) Q(uestions) Ma'am?!! And why the hell can my own dragon harpoon destroy my own fricking buildings??? IS IT ANTI AIR OR ANTI BUILDING UNIT FOR GOD'S SAKE!! God forbid You tell Your unit to attack an enemy unit again - because it will take 30 business day for Your unit to reposition themselves ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!! im being challenged neatly, its just so unfair every damn time. There was a 1v1, we both had the same faction (dark side/mordred) but out of nowhere they started building friggin trebuchets!!! THATS NOT ALLOWED IN THAT FACTION THATS FRIGGIN CHEATING!!!!! JESUS EFFING CHRIST!! i only have 3 more levels until i end my trail, the road to hell or whatever is the hardest one called. i hope something as dumm as this wont happen again.... like AI playing dark side/mordred and suddenly summoning giants out of nowhere O_O i still like it though, its like when age of empires got age of mythology, kinda wish i knew about it sooner, but then again i really sucked back then... couldnt even create a stable economy lol. Its like a polished Stronghold 2 with added mythical units, but SH1 is just much more responsive. Hope they make a remaster of SH2 soon though. STORY SPOILER (lowkenuienly) Gotta go through the campaign again some day because i didnt listen to the story at all, wanna find out why Lancelot betrayed us and all (END OF SPOILER). But i just came for a challenge and to come out on top. Besides... stronghold's strong suit was never the story - but thats tottally ok. The gameplay makes You so invested. The VAs are good but especially that dark one, Mordred? When He yells: UNLEASH HELL UPON THEM!!! Gets my instant attention. That Man was living for that role! The announcer is annoying as hell, i hate Him so much! Telling me i cant place stuff in such a silly voice like He's mocking me... and i love Him for it xD And the music, oh my god - also insane! There's songs that have same melodies like what i heard in Gothic 2. It has got to be inspired by Gothic 2 im just glad its not a buggy mess like Stronghold 3, i ragequitted that game, literally unplayable. i only heard strategy games like these are hard to finance, thats why they're such a rarity and why no other studio ever tried copying it... unlike battle royale games. So we're glad Firefly Studios is still with us^^ ♥♥♥
