Game has some good points and some ... less good points. So if there was a "meh" option that's what I would pick. Compared to Blade & Sorcery the AI is way better, more realistic, less of a punching bag that can barely stand on its feet. However it still has no notion of distance and the hitbox can feel a little arbitrary honestly. Weilding weapons two-handed is basically impossible. it just never feels right unlike B&S And like vanilla B&S it has that notion that your moves should be smoothed out and dampened which feels wrong and again arbitrary, except here you can calm it down a little by leveling up strength, but ... well B&S has mods to basically bypass all of it ... this DOESN'T This game absolutely needs mods. Tldr, there is fun to be had. Maybe it will more your thing than B&S maybe less, I say worth a try at least. Had there been mods to fix the two big issues in this game, it would have been a hard recommend. As is, it's just a mild one.

i like the fighting, rather simple for what you have to do. stabbing is fun & the boss weapons are sweet. that & i'm a fan of the realism mixed with a tad bit of fantasy. i enjoyed this game on the ps4 as well, updates have made the game harder then before. swordsman is also not that pricey for what you get. but if you have interests in other vr games with similar concept, truthfully the choice may be better if the game is like blade & sorcery for the mods or like grim lord if dark souls is more of you're thing since swordsman isn't really the exact same as those two. i also enjoyed watching my dad & brother play it, they both enjoyed it as well on the ps4. watching them get so happy from defeating a hard boss made my day better. :)

More often than not, I review a game because I am incredibly annoyed about it and want to vent. This is not one of the those times. The majority of my playtime on Swordsman VR is through Viveport. This is one I keep coming back to, and the developers keep improving it. I have always preferred the combat system here vs others of its kind. The combat feels precise and responsive. I also like that there is a progress system that drives me to acquiring more carrots. I do like chasing carrots. I would like the game much more if they would finally let me have a spear. I want a spear. Give me a spear. Was there a spear? No, I would have found the spear already. I am asking for a spear.
