June 2025
It's a deckbuilding game with rpg elements. One full run consists of 3 separate areas with monsters and boss which opens the 4th area for the "final" boss; there are 9 available characters to play with (3 from mage school, 3 from range and 3 meelee school) = there is a lot of replayability and sidequests, huge storyline - I did 47 hours to get all achievements and passed the "game" with each char and still haven't completed all quests (2 were still open) - anyways, highly recommend this game, really casual and enjoyable p.s. almost every class/char has a broken/op combo

Was not expecting this good of a game. There's different classes (archer, warrior, summoner) with three sub classes each to provide 9 different playable characters each having their own ability unlocks. Great combat system. Early game is a bit on the easy side and difficulty progression ramps very slowly. Good assortment of starter cards and unlocks. Mana is a bit tough to come by, but it is not difficult to learn to work with. Monster variety is good. Bosses are fair. Game feels pretty well balanced but certain classes just steamroll through. There's quite a few random encounters and side quests that span several runs, so it always feels a bit different even though the game loop can be a bit repetitive. Biggest gripe was the first starter class is one of the worst classes in the game so it really puts forth a bad first impression and makes the game feel harder (and less enjoyable) than it really is. Second gripe is that unlock progressions and permanent upgrades are super slow and grindy.

Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon brought me here. The lore in this game is fantastic and I think it's even have better gameplay and mechanics than Slay the Spire. If you like Slay the Spire or Hearthstone, this is the game for you 10/10

The atmosphere and the music are great. It has a nice, creepy feeling of exploration. It's not the best game, and after a while, it becomes repetitive, but it made me play for over 25 hours, and I believe I got my money's worth.

Got this on sale a while ago for around 6-7€ and I feel like it was already worth the price! I am extremely impressed so far by the quality and immersion of this game. Went in expecting a Slay the Spire like, but it gives so much more... + Character Creation and many (unlockable) Classes + Disco Elysium Level Voice Acting + Story involves how the game is played Rouge-lite + Immersive and well designed take on a familiar Universe and Game + Enemy Design (Visually AND Mechanically) + Card Design (again Visually and Mechanically) + The Presentation of how you play the game outside of combat + In Combat Camera Freedom + Extremely useful and user friendly Options! (Every game should have Font/Card/Interface size options!) + Very hard so far, which motivates an old genre Veteran like me I am excited to unlock everything and keep playing! Overall it seems to me like this is the most polished and AAA feeling take on rogue like/lite card battlers. I have gotten used to bare minimum presentation, if the game plays good so this feels like I am getting spoiled when I have both!
