Tales of Berseria - 100% Completion Review Score: 9/10 Tales of Berseria is a JRPG with a twist in that you don't play as a Hero but rather a Anti-Villain Protagonist after fully completing this game i'll give some Pro, Neutrals and Cons Pro's: -Good and Unique Anti-Villain Protagonist that isn't your do gooder type of Hero, but she will still do some good every once in a while, if she feels like it lol -Good Characters that are all fresh and unique with great Designs -Great Story that is unique and quite refreshing from the standard Good vs Evil plot lines of most JRPG's, almost feels like a Edgier Shonen Anime honestly -Big World with lots to Explore and Discover and a lot of Collectibles as well -Has Great Character Customization with tons of Cosmetics, Loadouts, Artes and Titles -Good X-Appeal, doesn't shy away from the Spice -Fun Real Time Combat and Gameplay -Good Music -Good Voice Acting -Good Length Game, took me 88 hours to 100% this game -Lots of Skits and Cutscenes, tons of Lore -Good Crafting System -Game is relatively easier than others in the franchise, so if your not the best gamer don't worry about it -Good Performance, No Lag, Bugs or Crashes Neutrals: "No Score Change From These" -Few of the Dungeons are Repetitive but not that big of a deal -Shares the same world as Tales of Zestiria but 1000 years prior Cons: -Some Side Quests can be a bit Grindy and Long -Some Environments are a bit Bland -Has Denuvo, it doesn't effect this games performance but it's really not necessary for such a older game, not sure why their still paying the license for it here Overall Tales of Berseria is probably my favorite Tales game simply due to how unique it is, they clearly wanted to do something a bit different and edgier and it really works, it's a really solid JRPG game, so if you like Tales of games or JRPG's then you will definitely like this one, but as always, It's.. Up.. To.. You and i'll leave it at that (^_−).

Unnecessary complex, maze-like level design. Bad map. So many mechanics that are not well detailed and explained for player. But the story help me to push through all that. Lovable characters, constant chit-chat and good written interaction between them makes 4-5 hours grind time in this game feel like 30 minutes.

+ Strong and Pretty female protagonist – I like Main Character so much, Velvet is a memorable lead with depth and emotional nuance. + Story line – A dark, compelling tale of revenge and personal growth. + Combat – Real-time battles with fluid combos and strategic options. + Party members – Each character has a unique background and personal journey. - Slow start – The story and gameplay may take a few hours to fully pick up momentum. - Repetitive dungeon design – Some dungeons lack variety and can feel a bit monotonous. - Limited side content – Side quests are present but not always as engaging or rewarding. - Camera issues in combat – Occasionally, the camera can be awkward in tight spaces during battles.

Berseria is both a fun game with a great story and a frustrating experience all at the same time. There are so many things this game does with its gameplay that is very poorly explained. That goes for things both in and out of combat. That being said the combat can either be very deep and complex or "grind levels and mash attack button" depending on how you want to play the game. There are a lot of mechanics for each character that never get explained and are things you have to learn as you play the game more. I stuck to playing one character for the entire game to try and learn the game better and I was still learning things on how this character functions in combat in the final area of the game. This is definitely a game that requires you to put time into learning its systems/mechanics on your own since some of the in game descriptions are in very odd places or not full descriptions. I enjoyed the combat of this game right off the bat. Once I finally had a grasp on mechanics and my characters abilities it allowed me to look into the other things I had been neglecting. But that was after nearly halfway through the game. And I was only playing one character out of the six! The game expects you to know all the characters and use them when its beneficial, so this kind of made certain portions of the game harder for me than they probably actually were. Story is great, characters are unique and enjoyable, 100%-ing requires lots of grinding, its a tales of game.
